I have been booked to twist at a triple christening for siblings. The oldest 2 are old enough for twisting and the Mum has said the eldest is into dalmations (which is not a problem) and that the middle child is really into pirates.

Now obviously I can manage a sword but I have yet to master a half decent pirate hat and I could also do with the name of somewhere that stocks the pirate faces balloons.

I am sure I saw a decent pirate hat somewhere but can't remember if it was on here or on someones website

Any help would be appreciated.

Mark, I have to tell you that your pirate hat (from your dvd) attracted me because of the simplicity (for me it has to be simple!) and appearance.

I wasn't sure how the children would react to a 'bare bones' type of hat, but they, and the parents, just love it.

Bare bones??? is that a pun?

My approach to balloon art is not like everyone else's.... from my art school background I use line as well as form to create. I also try to have focal points in my art.

Case in point, the skull is the focal point of the sculpture, the the line is the outer edge of the hat and the ear ring is an accent.

Just realised I never posted to say thank you to all who responded to my pleas for help which is what I am doing now.

Unfortunately, the client who wanted the hat for her son specifically has cancelled so never mind. It opened up my weekend to be able to twist for a whole day for the County Council again at a huge local festival which should be awesome. Also it means I now have more than one pirate hat in my repertoire
