The winner of this weeks challenge will start the new challenge on the 12th of April.
Good Luck Everyone and Enjoy....
Kenny!
Hi All
Sorry this has been a bit late, but I changed my mind at the last minute as to what I was going to post
I had the idea for this at lunchtime, when I was sitting on the beach at my lunch break having an ice cream in the sun (a tiny clue !!)
By the time I got home the sun had gone in, 'cos it was night time :D So I set it up with my desk light.
The clues are .........
1. Of Italian origin.
2. Celebrating 350 years in 2012 (May 9th)
Good Luck !!!!!!
If it wasn't for the clues, I would have said a witch on a stick.
After reading the clues, I became clueless ;)
Lisa
It is Mr Punch
Come on Kenny... Is the guess correct?
Any more guesses before I put the answer up tonight ????
(Not saying if Martin is right or wrong till tonight :D :D )
Quote from: "phoenix"(Not saying if Martin is right or wrong till tonight :D :D )
You tease! I did put the answer up as well but took it down, I will add it again tonight.
Well here is the answer, the shaddow is of Old Red Nose, or as he is better known, Mr Punch.
The character of Mr Punch originated in the "Comedie de'Arte" players of 16th centuty Naples, where he was known as Punchinello
Having arrived in England from Italy for The Rennaisance celebrations of 1662, a puppet show featuring Punchinello was seen by Samuell Peypes in the grounds of St Pau'ls Church, Covent Garden. He wrote of it in his diary, on the 9th May 1662, and the Punch and Judy Fellowship take tat date as his official Birthday, so next year is his 350th Birthday
Well done Martin, I think this means you have to do the next one :D :D :D :D
Also well done Graham, who I think got it, but his answer dissappeared..........wrll he is a Magician :D :D
Oops, forgot to put the picture in
Hi All.
Just a Quick Note--- Anyone Who Takes Part In This Challenge Must Be Willing To Post Their Own Shadow Sculpture If They Win The Challenge----
---Also You Only Have One Day To Post Your Shadow Sculpture---
This keeps the game going without any delays.
Thank You For Your Cooperation
Kenny
Well I did have a model... but I have been waiting so long for the win to be declared it has deflated now
You will have to give me until end of tomorrow. Is that okay?
It will have to do then Martin
We will just have to add a few more days on...
Here we go then. I was hoping to make my entry a little harder after Pheonix's gentle intro but looking at the photo I am not sure I have.
Here it is:
shadow.jpg[/attachment:1j00lbfd]
I didn't have much time tonight and so it had to be something simple and quick... took me ages to work out what to make though, just over 2 hours.
There was once a famous one of these from Cheshire.
Good luck,
Martin.
Ooh err, missus!! Not sure that my guess would be suitable!
--Neil
Is it happy ted :D
Hi Martin,
I think it is either a very mis-shapen Cheshire Cheese, or more likely a Cheshire Cat :D
Now now boys... it's a family show!
Kenny... what is the guidance on guess feedback?
Well well...
I never thought you had it in you "Ted"
I would say it's a cat very cleverly made to look like a Teddy on heat! :D
The feedback on guesses!!!
2. If the nobody guesses after 1 week then the person with the closest guess will win.
3. You can only have 5 guesses.
Hope this helps Martin... any questions let me know..
is it a snow man's head ? the pointy bit being his nose.
Could also be a Scarecrow ..
whatever it is, it's pointing at me in a very suspicious way :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Only 24 hours until I reveal the mystery from the shadows...
Has anyone guessed it yet?
Was my 1st clue to subtle?
Hi Martin,
There is an edge on my seat that I am sitting on now :D :D :D
Just One Day Left Everyone....
Come On Keep Guessing ;)
I see a small dog wearing a very large dog collar :D
...and the answer is...
Thelma's Cat from 2 & a Bit
I make it that Phoenix and Kenny were closest and so Kenny must win as Pheonix did the one before me.
Martin.

Iam on it today..

Clues... He loves grass and sometimes he can get quite warm.
I will pick a winner on the 26th of April. so good luck everyone and get guessing.
is it a sheep?
With Easter on the way, could it be a hot-cross bunny :D :D :D
He loves grass and sometimes he can get quite warm?
I'm sure: Lawn Mower.
Come on Everyone.....
Only Half a Day Left..
Get Guessing
I think it could be shaun the sheep.
Hi all...
Well we had 2 correct guesses it was shaun the sheep...
But Tonya was the first to guess right...
So Tonya you are the winner.
So Tonya your shadow is next and the results will be due on the 4th of May.
Well Done Tonya :)
Well done Tonya !!!!!!
And what a great little Shaun the Sheep that is Kenny :D :D
Very cute sheep!
Okay, here is my shadow. I had to whiten the right side bottom because the figure was there. We haven't had any sun in days so I had to use a light...sorry.
So what do you think it is?
shadow-3R.gif[/attachment:3n19owwc]
The Irish guess is; I think it's a Dolphin and Colin thinks a spaceship.
Nice to see your guessing again Graham :!:
Tonya you must also give 2 clues!!
Would say it's a frog or could be a lizard.
oops sorry...
okay clue #1 - I am very intelligent
clue #2 - I love to play and take brief naps
I would say a dog or a puppy.. :)
Is it ME???????
I'm with Graham... a Dolphin
just to be different I will say a shark :)
LOL...I think I kind of stink at this game. I should have used a different shadow
Graham and Martin...you both got it right. :) I'll give it to Graham since he answered first. It was a dolphin on a hat.
shadow-3-picture.gif[/attachment:nt3m7fk4]
Can you give it to Martin as I have just got back from Ireland and somehow need to fit in about 40 hours of weaving between now and Tuesday morning for a very big job that has just come in, Thanks.
Certainly Graham...I totally understand. Hope you had an awesome time (I'm sure you did!)
Okay Martin, since you were the 2nd to guess it, it's all yours :D
I have sent Martin a PM.
As it has been ten days now!!
Sorry for the hold up.
We will resume this challenge in the next few days!
Sorry... Oblivious to all of this.
If Graham is no longer busy could he take the win back please as I am stacked.
I have sent Graham a PM.
But I have had no reply.
So I will post a shadow today to get the challenge back on track.
Sorry for the delay..
Kenny.
I did try to take a picture with a shadow, it's a bit tricky.
The picture I tried to take was at night with a lamp, the sun was shinning today so here is the............?
You must give 2 clues Graham!!
Sorry but thats the rules! :D
The clues are;
Circle of life.
The beginning.
I suppose, this is a bat.
A baby in a basket (that a stork would normally carry)?
I second that ... but a baby in a blanket
Here is another picture giving a bit more away;
love birds
Hi Graham,
Could you let us know who the winner is. ;)
No one has guessed it yet, will put some easier pictures up
Is it a mother and baby monkey in a heart???
The heart is correct but it's not monkeys.
Dolphin?
No not a Dolphin, but it's a very usable model that everyone will use once it's been guessed. I guarantee it's a goodie that will be used in the real world.
Is it simba the lion in a heart!!
The heart is a clue and it's not Simba, back to basics would possibly be a clue.
Is it either two teddies, or two poodles in a heart ??
Two doves in a heart?
Hurray we have a winner, this model is so good everyone is going to use it, now when shall I post the proper picture, hmmmmmmmmmm now let me think!
You must post the proper picture!!!
"It's the rules"
:ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
Here is the picture and I'm sure many will use the model.
;) """""WELLDONE KEVIN""""" ;)
You need to post your challenge!! :)
Cheers Kenny,
Will get onto it after the weekend
Look forward to it Kevin... ;)
Hope you all had a good weekend, here is the new shadow challenge.
The clues are.....
1. Nice legs !
2. A relative of mine lives in a hole

Is it a frog on a lillypad?
Lisa
is it a Rabbit?
That would be a frog!!
A hare?
seemples - A meerkat?
I think we need the results... :D
Kevin has it been over a week?
Has someone won?
Hi Kenny,
I was not sure when you wanted the result, so on your prompt here it is.
One or two people had the right answer, but the first, guessed in record time, just 30mins after the posting, was Lisa Chester.
Well done Lisa, it was of course, a frog on a lilly pad :D :D
Ooops !! forgot the picture
This means Lisa is the winner, and has to post the next one :D
Hi Kevin.
Is that rubber cement you used for the tongue.. good Idea!
Fantastic!! I'll see what I can do tomorrow!!
Lisa
Very cool Kevin. I LOVE how you did the fly! I've been trying to figure our a better way to make one for my frogs at the restaurant. Thank you very, very much for posting this. YOU ARE AWESOME!

Graham was right. Next time I'll have to work on making it harder!!P6111303a.JPG[/attachment:397mw3jd]
Lisa
:D :D :D :D :D WELLDONE GRAHAM :D :D :D :D :D
Look forward to seeing your shadow sculpture on Monday.
Dear Balloon Chat Members.
I have made the decision to only run one competition per Month.
We figured that with only one competition running at a time, members won't feel that there is too much for them to take on.
This Month I will be running the Shadow Challenge Game.
It is situated in the Balloon Chat Challenge Section of the Forum Home Page.
Graham won the last challenge so if he is not too busy he will kick of the Game for this month.
THE SHADOW CHALLANGE WILL RUN FROM THE 29th OF JUNE UNTIL THE 29th OF JULY.
We would encourage everyone to get involved if possible.
Best Regards!
Balloon Chat Staff.
I have had huge amounts of things going on for the last few months, although it hasn't got any better I have made a concious decision to try to be more attentive to the forum and join in more like I used to. Looking forward to joining in this comp
Here we are then, starting the challenge off for July;
is it some sort of ball/catch type game? the only other thing I see is a really skinny, upside down, no legged stork...lol
Quote from: "Tonya"the only other thing I see is a really skinny, upside down, no legged stork...lol
That is pretty close.
a swan???
A wearable stork
We have a winner, Daisydoos, it's a swan hat. I forgot to take a picture of the model so will post it later.
It's your turn to take a shadow picture, would be nice to keep this game moving as it's the only one this month.
To keep the game ticking over how about everyone just putting a shadow sculpture on this week and we could have a mass guessing competition.
Here is the Swan Hat that I made earlier;
oooh, I never win anything LOL!
I have a special birthday design to create on Wednesday so will take a shadow pic of it then and post it.
Calling everyone, roll up roll up. Let's see how many shadow pictures we can put up in a short a space of time as possible, the more the merrier.
The sun is shinning so it should not be to difficult to get a shadow picture today.
Trying to get the ball rolling, here is my shadow picture,
A butterfly ?
How often do you cut your lawn Graham?! :)
I was hoping others would post a shadow picture and then we could do a little competition to see who gets the most right, Lyn normally cuts the lawn, it was done a few days back
As promised - here's my shadow pic of today's special birthday balloon request.
Is it a Lion?
Also, do we get the clues?
Oooh, didn't know I had to do clues as well.
Give me a mo . . .
OK, read the rules  and had a think . . .
Clue 1: A 'bad' man
Clue 2: He used to have 'muscles'
The left side looks a bit like the top leg part of an ostrich and the right looks like someone has a cigarette in their mouth.
Arnie, Claud van Dam?
I can only see a legless sheep wearing a beret...lol. I'm pretty sure that's not it
I will try to get something made and posted today....it's been raining lots here lately...hopefully we'll get a little sun so I can get a picture.
Okay....here is my shadow balloon...we finally got some sun~YIPPEE!!
shadow-challenge-1.gif[/attachment:2fsoy9dh]
These are the clues: 1) Not likely friends
2) lives in different parts of the country
Is it a bear holding a mouse?
Is it a Skunk!!
Is it a polar bear about to eat a penguin? :)
hmmmm....someone is getting close.......
Or could be a Raccoon.
I don't know how long we are supposed to leave it up before posting what it is. Here is the answer...lol.

Sorry folks, I've not had a minute the last couple of weeks to get online properly.
Anyway, here's the subject of my shadow challenge! This is a different side to the one that was taken for the photo, but you can see the bit that was sticking out that looked like a cigarette!
You know he's bad, he's bad, really really bad!
