WHALE PUPPET

KIT LIST : 350Q WHITE / 260Q WHITE / 260Q BLUE / 350Q BLACK / 260Q BLACK

This excellent whale design has the extra added feature that it can be used as a puppet. The mouth section (lower jaw) can be operated by placing your hand up inside the whale from underneath making the mouth open and close. This feature really works well providing the bubbles are sized correctly. The whale itself is large and really is very impressive. I have made this whale on a few occasions and each time received an marvelous response.

Clearly this is a model that must be pre-made for any gig or event but given the puppet feature it could be included in any stage show and then given away to some lucky audience member in the end. The body contours are very nice and the whale is equally impressive as a standalone item.

Michael's video quality is excellent, the instructions are clear and concise lasting around 20mins. Easily worth the lowly sum of $5 and this is something that you will make time and time again.

Available from http://www.balloon-animals.com/catalog/ ... ucts_id=29 priced only $5.

MY RATING : A+

LION BRACELET

KIT LIST : 260Q LIME GREEN / 260Q WHITE / 260Q GOLDENROD / 160Q GOLDENROD / 260Q MOCHA BROWN

A brand new release by Michael Floyd priced $5 from http://www.balloon-animals.com - as with Michael's previous releases the video quality is good with excellent easy to follow instructions. What I really like about this video, is Michael's attention to detail. There are many hints and tips here about breaking off balloons, tying and make this model in the most efficient way making it suitable for line work and restaurants.

The bracelet is based upon the 6 petal flower as with David Brenion's designs. The lion itself is good. The use of the contrasting white for paws and mouth is effective. I changed the brown mane slightly and twisted the balloon beneath the neck rather than on top to give the balloon more stability. The face design reminds me of previous lion designs that I have seen before.

A very competent design, not groundbreaking but to me the beauty is the audio soundtrack and how well thought out the method is.

If you don't have a lion design in your repertoire this one is worth a look.

HEART AND ARROW

KIT LIST : 160Q RED / 260Q PALE BLUE

Available from http://www.balloon-animals.com priced $2

At a quick glance. this model doesn't appear to be anything special. However, for the low price tag of $2, this heart creation is perfect for line work and can easily be used in other balloon creations. For some people, making a heart shape is difficult. Some twisters struggle with the shaping, others use a piece of sticky tape to hold the heart shape in place!

This video shows you a quick and easy way to make a heart shape with 160Qs. An interesting concept, maybe not a model I will use for myself in its current form, but it does give food for thought for future designs.

Worthy of the $2.

MOUSEY MICK

Available from http://www.balloon-animals.com priced $5

KIT LIST : 260Q BLACK / 160Q BLACK / 260Q RED / 260Q YELLOW / 260Q BLUSH / 260Q WHITE

There are many versions of this mouse available but this one is small and ideal for restaurants and line work. The video quality is first rate and again Michael spends a lot of time carefully explaining every step making this video ideal for a balloon twister of any standard. It is hard to tell the quality of this design from my photo but well worth a look if you are after a small mouse.

THUNDER MCKING

Available from http://www.balloon-animals.com priced $5

KIT LIST : 160Q RED / 350Q RED / 350Q BLACK / 350Q WHITE

This is an exceptionally cute, very well designed and popular movie character. The end result just doesn't seem possible with such a simplistic design. Everything is well thoughout. Usually when I make cars with tyres made from tulip twists they rarely sit right. Here Mike has used well placed pinched twists to hold them in position. The eye brows are held in position using a very ingenious method (at least I think so) and the easy artwork is within anyone's capabilities.

Up to this point, Mike's whale puppet has been my most favourite of his designs - well I think this one has just topped it.

First class, well produced video, clear instructions and very good value for money.

Please support Mike's work and buy this one.

Hi Chris,

The white Edding 750 are the best white markers to use, but they are not that easy to find in the UK

This is where you can get them from, along with any other markers you need....
