LION BY JACK MATTSON

KIT LIST : 350Q GOLDENROD / 350Q BLUSH / 321Q BLUSH / 260Q GOLDENROD / 260Q MOCHA BROWN / 260Q ONYX BLACK

This lion is big and bulky as it uses 350Qs. The body shape is fairly standard but the head construction is well done. I particularly like the use of mocha brown spirals for the 'mane' which helps to keep the head in the right position. Very cartoon looking and a bubble left at the base of the design makes for the perfect anchor point for connecting to a geo blossom. Would be great as a column topper.

HUMMINGBIRD BRACELET BY DAVID BRENION

KIT LIST : 260Q PURPLE / 160Q GOLDENROD / 160Q LIME GREEN / 160Q WILD BERRY

Already available from balloon-animals.com price $5 this design is repeated in this magazine. A clever idea using the wristband as a flower base. The bird shape is effective. I showed this to a few people and they didn't see this as a bird - most strange.

DISNEY PRINCESS TIARA BY JACK MATTSON

KIT LIST : VARIOUS BALLOONS DEPENDING UPON CHOSEN DESIGN

This is a range of tiaras using new disney heart princess prints. I didn't have any to hand so just used plain hearts which works equally well. The sizing of the hearts and lobes is a little tricky but the end result is cool. As we are unable to get princess hearts in the UK, I am pleased this design is equally good without them.

BABY BY JACK MATTSON

KIT LIST : 350Q WHITE / 260Q WILD BERRY / 260Q BLUSH / 6" BLUSH HEART

A very cute mini baby which will be perfect for my usual balloon stork to carry for delivery pieces. The very under inflated heart makes a wonderful head with a little nose!

KISSING MONKEYS BY JACK MATTSON

KIT LIST : 260Q MOCHA BROWN / 260Q LIME GREEN / 260Q WILD BERRY / 160Q MOCHA BROWN / 5" BLUSH ROUND

This design looks better in the magazine than in real life. Two monkey's kissing is an original piece especially with valentine's day approaching. Very careful bubble sizing is needed as it took several attempts to make the monkey head and body from a single 260Q. The faces just do not look right to me. I like the shaped tails to look like a heart.

GEO ELEPHANT BY DAVID BRENION

KIT LIST : 350Q PINK / 260Q PINK / 160Q BLACK / 6" PINK GEOS / 6" ROSE GEOS

An interesting elephant design that uses six geos! The end result is good but to me the feet would be better as regular balloons. This design is a little challenging especially attaching the body to the feet. It is an interesting concept and I can see myself using the head on another model.

LEPRECHAUN HAT HAIRBAND

KIT LIST : 350Q YELLOW / 260Q GREEN / 160Q LIME GREEN / 160Q BLACK / 160Q YELLOW / HAIRBAND

This design is useful as a foundation on which to build a variety of hats. You can easily learn the basic technique and make very quick designer hats for line work or in a walkabout setting.

SUMMARY

As always this is yet another first class publication, in full colour with lots of photos and easy to follow instructions. An absolute bargain for $7 - subscribe today if you haven't done so already!

Have to agree on the monkeys, looked great in the photo but seemed to lack something when made in real life.

I also made the lion today as it was requested for a circus party, thought it looked pretty good. Took me a while to make on the first time (pretty much the first time i have used 350's)
