This DVD release contains seven female superhero variations based on Ken's already popular Super Hero and Princess designs. If you are familiar with Ken's designs already it is easy to see how these are hybrids of designs seen before. The models themselves are fairly large and will allow you to create some impressive party and delivery pieces.

The instruction quality is excellent and Ken is a great teacher. This DVD is presented just as the balloonclick.com website so they are all ready to upload to Ken's site.

So let's try the first design...

SUPERHERO #1

This blue superhero is passable as 'Storm' from the Fantastic Four. The main body design uses a 5" heart wedged into the self contained shoulder section. You will need to make this a few times just to get the look and feel of the sizing correct. If the shoulders are too large then body will fall out and if too small they will be way too tight to insert the heart into. There is nothing particularly difficult here. I was surprised not to see the use of raisin or twisted heart lobes for this design. The legs and arms are simple.

The head design is neat and the tying off of the 160 hair balloons and using the scrap lengths to secure onto the neck keeps everything together.

The face uses printed clear stickers which gives a professional finish.

A great alternative to the male super heroes.

I took two of these superheroes to a party today and in the hands of 5 year olds the body separated from the shoulders. I'm thinking the heart needs to be secured in someway. I have some ideas. Has anyone else made these and had the same problem?

If they are like the Princesses, I always tie the neck to the torso to prevent that problem.

Hi Lisa, these designs do not have any attachment points on the heart. I will experiment. ..

I had the same problem nippy99.  Not quite sure how to overcome it because there is just no attachment point.  :(

I have the DVD but as yet not looked at it, can you have a raisen in the heart and attach the head/upper torso to this? I'm only guessing though.

I am planning on two raisins, one in each lobe and a scrap of 160q tied on the outside capturing the raisin.  Happy days!

Could you just twist the lobe? This might make the heart too small then?

Is it possible to put a single raisin between the lobes and then secure with a length of 160? Each end of the 160 then wrapped around the shoulder joints?
Kindest Regards

SUPERHERO #2

I'm not sure who this super hero is supposed to be but the design is very similar to the first one but the colours have been changed. As previously mentioned I did have a problem with the heart body falling out from within the shoulders and will try to fix this for next time.

With the pose of Storm could the hand not be secured into the waist band to prevent body and shoulders separating, it would save raisin twists. Or a single raisin twist to secure the base of the head to?

SUPERHERO #3

This creation is labelled as Birdwoman - never heard of her! The design her is pretty much the same as the first two models. This time around I used raisins to secure the lobes of the heart to the upper body which worked really well.

There isn't much more to say about this one!
