As promised, here is a review of finger lights. This is the link.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-Finger-Br ... ger+lights
At the time of purchase they were £4.20 a pack but are currently on for £6.50
This makes he, between 10p and 15p per light depending on when you purchase.
They come in packs of four (red, green, blue and white) and each comes with an attached elastic band for wearing on the finger (this is easily removed)
I have not gone through all of the lights but the ones I have looked at, they all work (reviews on google suggest a small number may not.
They do say you can replace the batteries but I don't think this is a reality.
They also come from china and take up to four weeks to arrive.
There are alternatives on the market at a bit more cost.
The light is very bright (don't shine in eyes cos it does leave you looking at white spots for ages)
They do seem fairly large but in length only. For anyone used to placing things in balloons, I can't imagine it will prevent you buying them. For size, I have placed the lights alongside or on top of a 646, a 350, a 260 and a 5inch round.
I have turned a couple on and will inform you of the longevity of life later though it is possible to turn on and off using the switch. (One function - on or off, no flashing mode here).
If I can insert into some balloons, will take some pictures to add when I update how long they last.
Kindest Regards
Stuart

Ok, so a bit of time later (five hours later) and the lights are still going well. The red is fading more than the others which is why it looks fainter in the picture of all four.
For 10p a go, I think they are ok. I do not and have not inserted these or other things into balloons and simply placed them between balloons to give an inner glow.
The biggest thing to note is that the coloured lights do tend to show up best using balloons hat match that colour (even down to the shade - I found the lighter blues and greens were more effective with the lights).
One last thing to note is that the elastic band it comes with is useful for attaching the light to a balloon as the band is held securely on the light. I am sure some of you could think of the possibilities.
As a throw away note, my findings are just that, mine. These are suitable for my purposes but don't come to me for a refund if you find otherwise  :D

Hi Stuart, thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. I now do not feel so alone in this section of the forums. I think I will give these a try myself.

Just as an aside - i will edit your original post just to add a review index number and to add it to the master index.

If anyone else fancies posting a review or has any opinions on any sort of LED light then go ahead and post on this thread, or if you want to review something different feel free :-)

Cheers

Thanks Darren, please do edit and catalogue, I just didn't want to tread on toes by giving a number.
As an aside, it has been 8 hours now and they still look as they did after 5.  :)

hi Stuart
they can last for a couple of days, the first time I tested how long they would last I went out when I come back after a few hours they were off, but when I thought they didn't last long my son said he had turned them off thinking I left them on by mistake :)

these are quite good as well

Hi Kevin, they certainly seem to be lasting well. I think the main thing for some is impact and whilst they are still light, they are slightly dimmer as the hours go by which would result in a diminished visual impact on a display perhaps.
I had seen the lights in your link but confess that my wallet ruled in my choice as, at the time, they were cheaper.
Perhaps you could review the others and add it here so we have more to go on and give everyone a more informed choice  :)

Indeed it was Mista Twister who got me thinking about LED lights in balloons after his rose post where he used glow sticks and led lights. :D

Hello guys did I hear my name lol.. I do not use these ones I use a similar type but there smaller and look like a bullet loads easier to handle when putting them into the balloons and they do them in multi coulour flashing versions that are excellent super bright and last a couple of days if not longer , they also have a small round hub thing at the back so you can tie string to them if you need to centre them in the balloons im waiting on my order : (  HURRY UP :grin:

4days on and the blue, red and white lights have finally given up. The green is still going. For ten pence, this is great non stop use.
