The David Grist memorial lecture has been confirmed for Wed 11th July and the party day for the day after on Thursday 12th July.
Patrick van de Ven is coming over to run both days with his hands on lecture workshops. Please note only one day will be filmed for Balloon Artiste Guild members.
I'm in :)
How about filming the second day for TBAG members for an additional £30 with a profits going to David's family ;-)
Im definitly there. Hopefully wont be my only event next year

That maybe a posibitity but I would then have to get a whole new set of memory cards for the filming and sort out an arrangement with Patrick etc so it's in the memory banks.
Have just put the booking details up for both days, http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/catal ... -23-1.html (http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/catalog/Care_Share_Days-23-1.html)
The first day will be filmed for BAG members, NON MEMBERS ARE MOST WELCOME TO EITHER OR BOTH DAYS.
put both Paul and I down Graham, I have put it in diary
Wont we have to pay you more money by then?
Pam
xx
All memberships run out at the end of March, one or two have paid already till 2013. So this will be the test as to if people have enjoyed the year and think it's value for money.
I'm hoping everyone rejoins :D
hi Graham
does the menbership run from march to march or is it 12 months from the day you sign up
just incase i get some spare money to join over the xmas period or would i be better to wait till march
thanks
kevin
To make life easier for Lyn and I we have it running from April 1st and you can join anytime as we adjust the fee pro-rata. If you join now you would pay £114 with membership up untill April 2013 or you can pay £99 till April 2012 and get all the backdated DVd's.
I have just booked the travelodge for the 10/11th July at Halesowen, please note this is a new travelodge in Halesowen and not the one on the service station.
I got the rooms for £19 so please book ASAP for a bargain.
I would love to come but my daughter gets married on the 14th July so I might have difficulty sneaking off as I've no doubt she has plans for my time
We have just added a special offer for both of Patrick's days. They are £35 for either day, Wed 11th July or Thursday 12th July or £50 for both;
http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/catal ... -23-1.html (http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/catalog/Care_Share_Days-23-1.html).
The days are free to Balloon Artiste guild members.
Hi just to let everyone know that the travel lodge have put a sale on today for the Halesowen for £15 a night now and is available for the care and share dates!
Thanks Emma!
booked.
No problem see you there!
Just booked the travelodge for Olivia and I. :-)
Only £19 woo hoo!!
But just discovered it is for the Tuesday not the Wednesday.
My fault, I looked at the wrong dates Grahem posted, as he is staying on the Tuesday and Wednesday...I thought that was when the jam was!
Does anyone want this room on the 10th?
And boo hoo, no rooms left for the 11th!!!!
Is anyone going to stay at the travelodge at Frankley?
Which travel lodge is everyone staying at?

Graham has booked the new travelodge, in Halesowen, and so have I now, for myself and Olivia.:-) I couldn't amend my previuos booking though!
Yes it's a brand new Travelodge, so may be a bit posh, well travelodge posh anyway.
Cool will get this booked in the morning

Hey, new to this site and forum. Have booked in as well. Staying at the Birmingham Halesowen. Would be nice to meet up.
Less than a month to go, if anyone could post the details about the two day event on their facebook page as we could do with getting a few more numbers attending and then possibly joining the club. Long live BAG :D
I've just booked 2 nights at the new travelodge as well. Left a little late as needed to be sure I could attend so I paid £29 per night. Still a bargain... Can't wait... Patrick is fantastic.
Hey everyone,
I'm looking forward to meeting you all in a few weeks.
I collected a wide variety of good and useful ideas, so everyone will get something out of it.
Imagine all the new possibilities....
Patrick van de Ven
Cant believe we still have proms on 11th
at the moment 12th is free so may still make one day
fingers crossed

Wow what a list :o I was looking forward to it before now I just can't wait to get there. :)
Looks amazing - if you haven't booked up or joined TBAG, do it now!
I know, i should rejoin but been off work for 10 weeks and the lecture is while Im away on holiday, will rejoin as soon as up and about. Hope it all goes well and post plenty of pics. :D
OK I've just booked Roger and I into Halesowen Travel Lodge!
I'm looking forward to the two days very much.
ITS NEXT WEEK!!!!! :D
Great news - I'm glad you are both joining us all. The Travelodge won't know what's hit them! I bet they've never been so fully booked midweek.
Are there any plans to get together the night before? Not sure on timings as yet but will try to leave mid afternoon if possible.
I'm coming too! Just booked one night though :)
Lyn and I are planning on attending as well.
Be good to see if you're there but I know you sometimes get busy
(joke)
dc
Hello everyone!!!
Just booked in at the travel lodge.
I'll be coming to both days.
Graham is this enough for me to book both days. Just so you know how many are coming?
Cheers
Not many tell me they are coming, it all adds to the fun and is a surprise on the day(s) See you soon.
Rachel and I will be there, but we are not booked into travelodge. Looking toward to the day
Quote from: "Graham Lee"Not many tell me they are coming, it all adds to the fun and is a surprise on the day(s) See you soon.
Ok forget i said anything, and i'll just surprise you on the day!
Hopefully coming to the Thursday, I have booking on Wednesday. anyone need a lift for thursday from south wales area?
If anyone does need some stock or supplies, can you send over an email before as it does help us and makes it easier at the days.
We are travelling up Tuesday morning.
If anyone going to Birmingham this week is able to sell me a mixed bag of 11" agates or a few different single colour bags I would be very grateful. I don't want to place a big order with another supplier for just a bag or two of these... please get in touch.. many thanks Darren
I'll see what I have to order min quantity to get these in stock with next weeks order as one or two have asked.
Graham that would be great - would prefer to buy all my stock from you. As they are expensive and I won't use too many I guess I would only take 2 x bags of 100 mixed colours (about £50 worth)
Cheers
I highly recommend the investment of these special agates. They get a good reaction whenever I use them. Perhaps I use one or two per twisting gig for special effects.
As they are multi-layered and quite thick latex with all the colours, they do last a little longer.
Just some thoughts!
:)
A few people have emailed about what the plans are etc. Lyn, Thelma, Patrick and Wilejmeen are off out tomorrow in the afternoon for a bit of sightseeing etc so we are not sure where we will be or what time etc. I don't want to say we will be at spot "A" at such and such a time just incase we end up with plan "B"
I think last time we went one night to Weatherspoons the normal meal spot and then another night was it to the White Swan?
As you came back from Benjamins to the old travelodge on the motorway.
I was expecting we would stay at the venue till approx 7/8pm and then head out for a meal on Wed night and then the day finishes at 5/5.30pm on Thursday, quick meal and then off down the motorway and home as I have an early playgroup party on Friday, not sure how I booked that in after three days away.
I some spare as i also use them but only every now and then. Could spare you about half a bag if that's any good to you for the moment ?
have I not seen bags of 25 in local wholesalers?
The single colours come in 25 count now and the mixed in 100's
Patrick arrived safely in the UK and the car is all packed and ready to rock & roll first thing in the morning for another fun two day event :D
And we have another new club member as well.
Fantastic news - make sure Patrick makes it to Birmingham safe and sound :-)
Quote from: "nippy99"Fantastic news - make sure Patrick makes it to Birmingham safe and sound :-)
Don't worry about me then :(
Ah - i figured if Patrick made it then you will be fine as well
You will forgive me after a few Krispy Kreme Donuts!
All of you have a lot of fun with Patricks lecture's.
I am sure it will be good.
Has anyone got a beamer, we have a laptop and need to project some pictures onto the wall. Just hoping someone is coming tomorrow and may have one.
PM'd you :P
I've sorted it. ;-)
All sorted for you. See you tomorrow.
Thanks Darren, Patrick will be pleased :D
Back at the hotel for 10 mins before we all meet up at 7pm for a meal in town. Patrick gave an excellent memorial lecture with some Dutch jokes thrown in to make the day even more memorable. Thanks to everyone who came along to the event and made it a lovely time and atmoshere, I'm sure everyone must have taken something from the day wih plenty of concepts and models being shown and we still have day two to go.
Just returned home from the most amazing and intensive two-day lecture ever! Patrick is an inspiration, his designs impressive and it was a real privilege to spend quality time with a master artist. I am exhausted and but still tempted to start work on the Gorilla.
Same time next year??
Thanks for Graham and Lyn for all their hard for work, and especially to Patrick and his lovely wife for spending time with us all. The usual gang were fun as always and it was lovely to see some new faces.
For those who haven't joined TBAG, my advice would be to sign up - at least you will be able to watch Patrick's first day of teaching on DVD.
Brilliant!
I too have just got home after the same brilliant two days and am inspired and exhausted at the same time!
Huge thanks to Graham, Lyn, Patrick & Willemijn. Plus thank you to Roger for driving me there and back!
I learn't loads, some usable stuff immediately and some more complex models that I will need to practice.
Always good to meet friendly faces, both new and familiar!
:)
Thank you for an amazing couple of days. Thats to Patrick, Willemine, Graham and Lyn and everyone who was there and made the event what it was. xxx
Home again, too soon :( . The two days spent with the crowd and the fabulous Patrick have been the best ballooning days I've had. Every single model shown by Patrick is a winner in my book. As Nippy said if you are not a TBAG member then join now. Honestly the DVD you'll receive from this day alone would be worth the subscription.
Many thanks to Graham and Lyn, Patrick and his lovely wife without whom this wouldn't have been possible. I honestly can't stress just how much fun these days are to go to. :D
I can't sleep with all of Patrick's ideas swimming in my head so I had to make this... very pleased with the result using a photo and my scribbled notes...
If you need a reason to join TBAG this could well be it!!
parrot-small.jpg[/attachment:2drzf1zk]
Good morning everyone.
Hope you all had good journeys home in that awful weather :)
Just wanted to pop on and say what a fabulous time I had yesterday. Thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome!!! You are an amazing group of people and so warm and accommodating. Thanks also to all of you who helped me as we went along to keep up :) the support in the room was fantastic. I learnt loads yesterday but what was fabulous was to meet other people who love balloons too.
If anyone else has never been to one before and are nervous about going because they are worried they wont keep up or don't know anyone I would recommend you bite the bullet and go for it - I have only been twisting for a short time and I am so glad I did :) and I will be joining the club.
Darren - Your parrot is wonderful and I am so glad you posted the picture as I didn't take photos yesterday and now so wish I did :( - Am going to try and make my own version later today.
Take care everyone and look forward to seeing you all at the next one!!
KR
Sonia
I am really sad I missed this, but you have all convinced me to join the club! Life is still a bit in turmoil at the moment and I was going to wait until we are back on an even keel and more organized time wise. However, I really would like the DVDs of Patrick's days so I figured I needed to join NOW!
Quote from: "Twistina"I really would like the DVDs of Patrick's days so I figured I needed to join NOW!
Just so that everyone know's, only one day is filmed for the club DVD. Normally the star lecturer only does one day, for a treat and a change I booked Patrick for two.
And you certainly know how to treat us...
I have started the thread for anyone who wishes to post pictures from the day, post43721.html#p43721 (http://balloonchat.co.uk/post43721.html#p43721)
It is only viewable for members of the forum, it's free to join so if any lurkers are looking then please sign up and see the pictures from this great two day event.
Thanks to all who attended and made for yet another fun filled laughter packed two days, memories are made of this :D
I would just like to confirm everything that has been said already. Many thanks to Graham, Lynne, Patrick and supporting teams for a fabulous and exhausting 2 days. Brilliant!!! And i feel very privileged to be part of very talented, kind, caring and sharing, enthusiastic group of people.
Oh, and Don't forget about the great short cut too! Don't follow me:-)
Wow what a brilliant 2 days.
I have already sold several of the designs learnt over the two days, so well on my way to getting my money back.
Thanks everyone for a wonderful couple of days.
Roger.
I want to echo the thank you's, it was a great two days. I dropped my balloons off at the local children's ward and they went down really well, especially the parrot. Lovely to spend time with you all as well :)
Brilliant to be there and to see everyone last week,
Patrick did a brilliant job.
Thank you Thelma for letting me take your big bird, my little girl loved it.
David
