Thank you jillybilly for the compliment on the turtle.
Milo, I start the turtle with a tiny bubble for the chin. Then I make a 1.5" cheek bubble, a 1" pinch twist for the back of the head, a second 1.5" cheek bubble lock twisted to the first cheek bubble (at this point the chin bubble is sticking out all by it's lonesome)... Then I lay the eyes on top of the cheeks and wrap the forehead bubble over them and connect it to the back of head pinch twist. Once the head is completed, then I grab the nozzle from the chin bubble and, pulling firmly, connect the nozzle to the back of head pinch twist also.
The kangaroo is started with a 1" pinch twist for the lip and a pair of lock 1.5" lock twisted bubbles for the muzzle. Then I make the head in the same manner in which I made the head of the turtle (cheek, back of head pinch twist, cheek, eyes on top of the cheeks, forehead bubble over the eye, plus a pair of lock twisted bubbles for the ears.)
On a side note: I almost never use the bird body roll through technique in any of my designs. It may look like I do because the bubble groupings look the same when completed. I just feel that the roll through technique adds stress to the bubbles which can result in stress tears or out right pops. Less repairs made while working = more time to make new creations.
Happy twisting,
Bonnie, The Balloon Lady
