Hi All,

I'm searching for the best solution / practice to fix the base of stems of a flower bouquet into the centre of a GEO blossom or donut as the centerpiece weight. Could you explain please, how to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Leslie, hope you are well!!!

It is pouring with rain outside, so I am staying in today, and as I'm in, I made up this quick Bouquet to how you how I fix it to a base.

Hope this helps :D

I make my bouquets by fixing a flower on eash end of a long stem (Pic 1)

I then twist them together in the centre (Pic 2)

Gather them up and add a bow (Pic 3)

Then I make a loop out of scrap, and tie it to the bottom of the stems (Pic 4)

This loop is then threaded through the centre of the water filled geo, and held in place with a lolly stick (Pic 5)

Then the bouquet will stand up fine (Pic 6)

The loop could be tied to the knot of the geo, but this can make the bouquet stand a bit lop-sided. It also means that whoever takes the flowers home, has to carry a water bomb with them. With the stick threaded through, the bouquet can easily be detatched

This loop is then threaded through the centre of the water filled geo, and held in place with a lolly stick ... the bouquet can easily be detatched

For smaller sculptures the water may not be necessary. A CD or two between the stick and the Geo may give enough Weight.(Pic 7)

I hope this helps you. You may find the topic " 5" rounds as weights" a bit further down worth looking at. :D :D :D

PS Have you ever heard of a Hungarian magician called George Kovari (The Great Kovari) He is from Budapest, and is not only a very nice man, but an extreemly respected magician over here.

Hi Leslie,

Glad to help.

I must get my typing speed up, you replied before I typed in the last bit

Any time you need a bit of help there is normally someone here who can point you in the right direction. As Graham says, this is an extension of his care and share days :D

I've always worried about putting water in a geo as it's only one thickness of latex and if it's on a table and pops
I would do the double stuff 5" and put the water into that balloon and then tie the bouquet through the geo and onto the water balloon.
This is the thread on it; inch-rounds-weight-t2875.html?hilit=water weight

It is funny when they pop though

I have had this happen only once though, but that is really once to many times, which is why I now use CDc or boards.

I pointed Leslie to the other thread I wrote, and hope it helps

Thanks guys!

My problem not the weight itself was, just the method: how to tie / connect the stem and the hole of the GEO blossom. Now I see.

Thanks again!
