Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Bags vs Aprons

I have a twist em up double busking bag, and i love it. At the time of purchase i couldn't fill up one roll (it comes with 2) but now i cant fit all my balloons in two rolls!!!

If you are looking to only stock 260's (and maybe 160's) then the double is the way to go, i am now getting into 350's and 646's and i wish i had a triple busking bag!!

You can get them from twist em up, which i am pretty sure is based in usa.

Thanks for the very helpful reply (it was a fast reply too!!!! :) )

I think letting them loose and then just going round to help them as they do it would be lots of fun

Hi everyone, fast forward almost a year and this is what my bag now looks like!

I have been adding stuff every order, first prints, then hearts , then solid color 5" rounds, 11" polka dots (for octopuses), lime geos, 160's, 350's and now my next order is containing 646's  :o

I if i could go back 10 months and answer my own question, i would say TIME is the only way. Building up bit by bit is the way to go.

Just thought i would let all you know how i am going :)

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon twisting classes

Hi everyone, i am Jake and I havent posted in here for a while because of the busy school term (i am only 13)

I have been running a balloon twisting and magic business in Australia for just over a year, and average about one event every fortnight (which i think is quite good :) ) i recently did an event for a fundraising group run by children (and their parents) that is raising money to go to cambodia. They really enjoyed the magic and balloons and they want me back in a couple of weeks

But this time they would like me to teach a few magic tricks and balloons, in a time frame of 90 minutes.

I remember watching a video of someone ( i think it was flowerclown) who wasat a party teaching the children balloons, and at the end they all got to make a crazy hat out of up to 5 or so balloons. I think this will be a good way to end it, but i still need  two magic tricks and maybe one or two more balloons.

What are some (very) simple magic tricks that use stuff around the home that i could easily teach the kids?

Any tips for teaching the kids the balloons? i think i will keep having to remind myself they are only 9 years old and have never twisted before!!

Thanks in advance,

Jake

Have to agree on the monkeys, looked great in the photo but seemed to lack something when made in real life.

I also made the lion today as it was requested for a circus party, thought it looked pretty good. Took me a while to make on the first time (pretty much the first time i have used 350's)

The problem is, if you want it to look like a good cricketer it needs to have a little logo in the top left of its shirt saying "cricket australia"

Then and only then will it be a GOOD cricketer

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: Swallowing a balloon
April 19, 2013, 06:44:16 AM
Swallowing a balloon is a magic trick that many magicians have published. It is not fair to those magicians if we just give away this method. The most recent i believe is deep by justin meitz.
It is kind of like saying "walking through a wall is a great effect, how can i achieve this?" This is not fair to the person who came up with that effect. If you are interested in who did first publish the walking through a wall effect, it is not known for sure, however most think it was an egyptian man. If you are interested in purchasing it, the effect is called "a door"

The balloon swallow is, like you said, a very powerful trick. Not great for kids especially if you are doing balloon animals after, they will all try to copy you!!!
