Balloon Chit Chat / New 260's at Spring Fair 2015
February 05, 2015, 02:40:17 PM
Spring Fair at NEC I know is mainly a decorators event rather than twisters, but thought I would ask, just in case

Did anybody go and get samples of the NEW Anagram 260's
and try them?

If so what do you think of them?

My first personal impressions

They are harder in texture than Qualatex ones
(I tried sempertex years ago and they where harder and made my hands hurt by end of the day, so this makes me cautious to the feel)
I was told yes they are thicker

Paul has tried a few times on different colours we had given to us
and none as yet have blown up by mouth inflation, maybe its a different technique needed to do this with these... it was not something we discussed at the show

Told me they are 20% cheaper to buy
but that is less than 1p per balloon, so not phased or excited by that

When I am out twisting, I want the confidence in the product I use, that it will do what I want it to do.... I am happy using Qualatex balloons, they suit me and my style of working, I have never had much of a problem with them (even my latest black 260's bag I am not experiencing any poppages, which others say they are!!)..

But I accept that choice and competition is a good thing for all to have in any product in any industry... and if nothing changed nothing would develop

Anyone else got anything to say about them?

Hi folks

Been stock taking and clearing shelves.... come across a battery pump.. worn as a bum bag I think.... had it a while, and never got on with it personally...

anyway tried to charge up battery and it says no... so needs new one..

Hence the ask.. can anyone shed any light on it... is it worth anything.. is it worth buying new battery.. if so does anyone know where to buy them and if poss how much?

or should I just dump it

Balloon Decor / Quick links

Can I ask just a few questions?

have you tried them yet?

have you experimented with them?
What have you come up with

what do you think of them?

No other reason than just a personal interest

personally I think twisters will get a lot out of them because a string of links is just a string of BIG bubbles we have not had to twist and all the same size and will not come apart.... so everything you can do with a 260 you should be able to scale up

Balloon Chit Chat / Maxi 11 - premium balloon stcks
September 25, 2012, 04:03:30 PM
HI

Has anyone used these sticks??

The information about them is being emailed out as answers to any helium shortage anyone has.. as they can hold a jumbo foil, so should in theory hold and 11" airfilled latex..... But they are only 20" long and to my thinking and teaching too short for centrepieces (normally we teach minimum height of 24" for first balloon to give views across table etc) - which means they would need to be  24", 35" & 46" to give the same design as a 3 x 11" helium filled balloon bouquet on a table... and at those lengths I would be concerned of them waving about and toppling over, especially in rooms with air conditioning..

We have been emailed as this is an answer used by the USA when their shortage happened, but I don't know if that's a marketing tag or not, as I have not seen any reports from USA decorators on them

Sorry I know this is predominately a decor question.. but thought others may have used them for other air filled designs too

Thanks

Balloon Decor / Sad News
September 07, 2012, 08:46:30 PM
Sad news to read that Lindy Bell has passed away..

For those in Balloon decor their picture of the wedding columns has created so many large orders.. I for one personally went up and shook both their hands when meeting them at IBAC and thanked them for it.. Saying that it has secured my first large order for balloon decor, to be told so many people had said the same... Amazing balloon people with amazing skills and design knowledge and real nice people to talk to and be with too..

RIP Lindy it was nice to be a part of what you created... thoughts and prayers with Wyn and family at this sad time...

Have you seen the Promo Power facebook status:::

To all our valued staff!

Firstly we would like to thank you for your hard work and support over the past few years.
After great consideration PromoPower has decided to take a sabbatical (The term sabbatical actually is derived from the biblical Sabbath which serves to build periods of rest and rejuvenation into a lifetime lol.)
Therefore PromoPower ceased trading on the 31st May 2012 until further notice.
Should any of you have wage claims that you have not yet submitted, please ensure that we receive them no later than Friday 22nd June 2012 as this will be the VERY LAST pay run; any wages/expenses not claimed by this date will be LOST.

We wish you all the success for the future!
Kind regards

Kim & Lindsay

Is this a sign of better days for the rest of us??? or will another take their place thinking 'they' will be the ones to get all the business!!!.... There is enough work for all to be happy with if we all work together for the same goals...xxx
