Picture Gallery / balloon technology

Idea for a smart phone or iPhone 7 balloon model
Uses one black and one clear 160
It's a 4 'line' weave with all the clear on one side and the black on the other
As it's 160s it's still quite thin and compact
Start by making a double bubble with the black and a single bubble with the clear
And finish this way too, so that you get 4 clear 'lines' from the front but 6 black 'lines' behind
This gives it a bit of substance and black rounded borders at top and bottom,
The icons are all drawn on a blank card which is then slid in between the layers, or slide in a business card, then home key etc added in white.
Using a bit of map or a picture it can easily be turned into a satnav or camera, adding a lens etc

Guinness World Record Breaking Largest Modelling Balloon Sculpture
30th June 2013 in St Albans
A small team of balloon modellers headed by Caroline Ainslie who some of you may know as Bubblz, the maths clown, and by Sandra Smith who is a decorator and an event organiser are building the largest ever balloon model
The model will be a Sierpinski Pyramid or Tetrahedron
You can do an image search to see what beautiful and amazing structures these are!
The model will be 12m tall and will be made from nearly 10,000 balloons
A massive thanks to Qualatex who are sponsoring the balloons and to Conwin who are sponsoring the inflators.
We have many other sponsors helping with everything from coffee to marquees.
We already have a good few dozen children signed to be valuable assistants but we are looking for a few more experienced balloon modellers who would like to be part of this amazing event.
It will be a very early start on Sunday 30th June in order to get the model finished by 1.00pm when National Press will be attending etc etc.
Myself and Zoe from BallooniVille are taking part as well as five or six other balloon modellers ... but we are looking for a few more !!!
Let me know if you are interested in being part of this amazing event and I will forward you some more information. mailto:info@balloonanimal.co.uk">info@balloonanimal.co.uk
Many thanks

Picture Gallery / woolly balloon model
October 11, 2012, 07:20:54 PM
I made this woolly mammoth for the Ice Bar in London.  To hint at the woolly effect I added a few uniflated orange 260's into the weave, could have added a lot more.
I have to credit my four year old daughter for this concept

A couple of years ago I created an abstract balloon model for a design student, Cai Griffiths.
Cai wanted me to try and create a model based on the 27' chandalier in the V and A museum, London.
We filmed the model deflating and then Cai reversed the film, added effects etc.
The project involved still photos and a video as can be seen below
http://www.caigriffith.com/folio/2012/02/03/70/

Now the other day I was working at a private or I should say pirate party (where I made a pirate ship as below)
and on my way down Park Lane I was fooled into thinking that a model on display in the middle of the road was a balloon model.  It was only when I got up close I realised it was glass.
I found out today that the sculpture is by Dale Chihuly who also created the above mentioned chandalier and who currenly has an exhibition at the Halcyon Gallery on Bond St, which I happened to be passing.  Funny how it all came round in a circle if you see what I mean
