Hi there
I have been asked to do balloon twisting for a Animal Shelter Fundraiser in a couple of weeks.  This will be a first official request to do twisting for a small fee....  The person running it is paying us a small fee and I am going to set up a donation box which will be collection of funds to the Animal Shelter and I'm hoping that we collect more than what it costs the Fundraiser.  I have not done twisting on this scale and need to work out what balloons to twist as the kids will be lining up and will need to get the creations out pretty quick.  I am only use to doing more intricate stuff that I potter around doing.  Help any suggestions... Not that keen in just doing one balloon dogs and stuff....
Appreciate any suggestions...

Topic/Discussion Of The Month / Where to begin
May 16, 2012, 01:35:21 AM
I have been balloon twisting just for fun (my husband as well) over the past few years.  We enjoy it very much.  Its an outlet, its creative and we enjoy the fact that it puts such smiles on faces of kids and adults alike.  On many occassions, my husband does twisting for the kids (just because he feels like it) at Kinder and day care and once did a day of balloon twisting for kids for a xmas party for the women refuge.  I on the other hand like to create something more time consuming and often give the birthday child a balloon when we attend numerous parties which my kids seem to be attending lately.  On many occassions we have been asked do you do this for a job?  Do you have a business card? but our response has been NO we do it for fun.  But lately I have been thinking hey maybe we could do a little of the paid kind of balloon twisting for people and still enjoy it?  But where to begin.  Not sure I have the confidence and feel that our work is good enough for payment.  At a cross road so to say.  Your suggestions and words of wisdom very welcome.

Welcome / Hi from Australia
April 22, 2012, 10:43:04 AM
Hi
New as a member but had been viewing all the wonderful creations for a couple of years now.  I only do balloon twisting for fun and started out this interest when my daughter recieved a twisted balloon wand at the shopping centre.  I find the adults enjoy the balloons if not more than the kids.  This is a wonderful forum to share and see the creativity of all from a simple balloon is amazing.
Thanks everyone
Cheers June
