I'm at the hotel for the convention, the phone has very limited connection and the computer dongle does not work and internet access is free in the lobby only although they have given me a password to use in the room which I will try later. Hoping to put some pictures up of the event during the next few days but this will depend a little on what access to the internet is available. Sitting in the Crown Plaza lounge/lobby which is very posh and up market, my room is definately better than the usual travelodge that I stay in. The bar is on the expensive side with a burger and chips costing £13 and fish and chips £14. I better go now as I'm on the battery for the laptop and it's just about to give up the ghost, have to go back to the room for the mains lead.

I gave up on yellow pages about five years ago, the book has shrunk in more ways than one. A good website is far more cost effective in the long run nowadays.

We are looking to have Patrick over Wed July 4th and Thursday July 5th, there is another option of the following week 11/12th July but this year a few people were unable to come along as I booked the date for late July and there were a few breaking up for the summer school shows about.

Balloon Chit Chat / Rie Hosokai, New Book
November 03, 2011, 10:13:00 AM
I have just sent off my details to get the new book from Rie, really looking forward to this as her first book was lovely, Balloon Beauty.
This one is called Daisy Balloon and is written in English and Japanese. If you check out Rie's website she does just stunning work and when you watch her weaving I have never seen anyone so quick and so accurate, definately a work of art.

Quote from: "nippy99"So when will the TBAG subscriptions be due again? I can't remember when we all joined.
We started T.BAG on the 1st April and at the moment the plan for next year is for the fee to be the same and with 10 balloon days being planned with three star lectures and possibly the added party day with Patrick.

Darren believe in Karma, you did a good turn and someone will do a good turn for you soon.
You felt good as you thought you were helping someone out in need which goes to show what a nice person you are.
Unfortunately some people are happy to **** on you and that is their problem not yours, do not change the way you are be at one with yourself.

Yes I agree, but we did try. Even the last Darlington day was a struggle to get them in with shirley Ray lecturing for the whole day.
Shall we try again? I could come sightseeing and stay for a few days and if we get enough interest we could run a day.

Please remember that Patrick's basic is everyone's Int and his Int is everyone's advanced and his advanced is just to look at and wonder  :D  ;)
Still waiting to see if the pennies and Patrick are available for the two days.

Balloon Chit Chat / Selling on DVD's, right or wrong?
November 02, 2011, 09:23:55 AM
So is it OK to sell on a DVD and still be making the models taught on the said DVD yourself,
Or should you not sell on as the originator of the DVD then only gets one sale.
I only ask the question as on another thread they are trying to get hold of the new Buster Balloon 4 DVD set that was a limited edition I believe of 165 and sold out within a few weeks.

I'm sure we did have a discussion on this a while back but I was unable to find it via the search facility.

The weave looks good for a first attempt, nice and tight with no spaces between each level.

There is a good selection here; christmas-balloons-t3477.html
But the more the merrier. I also did a couple of christmas ones in model of the month section.
