This is a childrens magic convention and is probably the best one day convention at the moment. There are 3 main lectures and 6 mini lectures to choose from and at least 15 dealers. More info; http://www.practical-magic.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=30
Practical Magic & Albion Magic put the convention on in Wolverhampton, the day after the 7th you can come along to the care & share day with Twistina the amazing balloon lady which will be in Halesowen, more details; http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/catal ... -23-1.html

The fence has been a bit of a struggle as we have a raised flower bed and we needed to change the back section with some new oak sleepers, the old ones were 8x4 and the new ones are 9x5 so this caused a few major problems. It's coming along and we have 4 of the 10 panels up.

I have decided that the next DVD wiil be hats, I have 20 at the moment but will narrow it down to 12/15. We were going to be filming this on Tuesday and Wednesday but have had to go to plan B as Thelma is coming down and it looks like we wll be working on her latest project instead, still it will be fun as we do have a good laugh as anyone with our quicker by tube DVD will tell you.

I use pentel maxi flo, they are the best and the black is brilliant. If you do a search there are plenty of threads already about pens which may help you out.

A very interesting picture that looks like it's made from rolled up 260's? Possibly. http://onmilwaukee.com/ent/articles/bal ... html?27241

Dennis showed a nice fly made from the spider eyes at the memorial lecture, I'm pretty sure I put pictures up.

Balloon Chit Chat / Technical question

I have been asked what pressure is required to inflate a 260, I have no idea, any takers?

Carrying on from the log cabin adventure we have now started to put up a new fence today, have to dig out all the old concrete post supports so have to say I'm aching a bit, well a lot actually and we only took two out today with eight more to go. I think this may take some time to finish.

The first lot of babies are now 16 days old and our other rabbit today had a litter, they are all snug under some hay so as yet not sure how many. Would anyone like a rabbit or two?

There seemed to be a large gap between the 260 so I added some eyes to fill the space and to add some character to the model.
Made a variation without the triangle base.
The orange crab hat is one I have been making for a while although I did alter the eye position from normal and think thay look nicer, it's also adjustable.

Number 27

Rick Mohr, Cornering the hat market with the triangle hat. The DVD was produced in 2003

There are some 14 different hat designs shown with the Heart Tat, Teddy Bear Rainbow, Crab Hat and Lobster hat taking my liking, also featured were, Jester Hat, Weather Vane, Cheese Hat, Piece of Cake, Horse/Unicorn Hat, Chicken Hat, Rooster Hat, Globe Hat, Fireman Hat and Tricycle Hat.
I did wonder if Rick has used the models in the real world just by the way he made and explained things, just a feeling I got so may be wrong
I liked the idea that Rick never spoke on the DVD when making any of the hats but did a voice over which eliminated all the talking with squeaking going on. There was also some soft music being played while he did the voice over, I expect this may have got on some people's nerves especially if they did not like the chosen music.
Rick does give credit that Ed Chee came up with the design for the triangular hat and the DVD was made with his permission.

The crab hat made as explained on the DVD except for I added a double pinch twist so that the wibbly wobbly 260 would sit better, I forgot to trim the knots as well  :(
I thought the Crab hat looked a little Lobster like and on the DVD Rick does add to the Crab hat to turn it into his Lobster hat.
