Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Qualatex Purple Pump
March 14, 2013, 11:00:17 AM
I used to have 2 purple balloon pumps, one called called Norman and one called Betty, here is their story -

Many years ago one cold and stormy night Norman and his wife Betty were working hard to inflate the balloons of many many sad children at the local Childrens Hospital (ok so it was actually a birthday party and the children were all very happy but I am trying to make it sound more dramatic).

It was around 6pm when the hospital meals (birthday cake) arrived and all the children cried (ran screaming) for their food (cake). Sadly (happily) there were not enough meals (too much cake) to go around all the children and one little boy had to go without (ate too quickly) and sobbed (got indegestion) in the corner. Another meal (Indegestion tablets) was called for but it would take a while for the food (medicine) to arrive but Betty the balloon pump came to the rescue, she sacrificed herself to save the poor little boy by making a splendid Monkey up a Palm Tree.

The amazing balloon soared 10 meters (about 2 foot) into the sky and the Monkey perched on top of the tree as if it were real (made from balloons). It was during the last part of the balloon modelling, high up in the sky (about waist height) there was a loud crack (sort of creak) and the lightning hit the hospital (a car drove past the village hall). Dramatically Betty's head slowly and shockingly snapped and scattered onto the ground below (it fell off), Betty was gone (it broke)

It was now up to Norman to finish Betty's work alone, he has soldiered on alone for many many years without a single complaint (well it is only a pump), so, I plead to you all, think of Normal, working alone, struggling through every single day without a friend to keep him company (its just a pump).

How nice it would be for Norman to have a new friend (pump), they could work together and both be happy pumps for ever more.

To put all that into just a few words - I used to have 2 pumps, I broke 1 and could do with a spare as mine is getting old. :)

I shudder to think what it will be like, not a wise career move really.

Hi all

I am having a balloon jam on the evening of Thursday April 18th in the Portsmouth area, I already have a few people keen to come along, is anyone else interested?

It will be in a function room with its own bar in a nice pub near Portsmouth, there will be good freshly prepared local food available to purchase if you need it.

More information of the location and Jam will follow soon once I have finalised the details. you can join the facebook group for details too - //https://www.facebook.com/groups/PortsmouthBalloonJam/

Be great to see you there

Wow, think I would avoid it like the plague, he he, your right, it could be fine but it COULD all go horribly wrong for you too, good luck to anyone who does do it.

I got asked to do Come Dine With Me a few years ago but turned that down, not my thing really.

The more I read about 1fivezero the more I feel the need to buy it (not), these reviews are very useful so thanks to both nippy99 and Signeddiamond for doing them for us.

Signeddiamond - your attempt at sully looks pretty good taking into account the problems you seemed to have so well done.

Those look good, I like the ones with the pointy bits on the front, I am sure there is a technical term for pointy bits. I will have to have a go myself.
