After the discussion on facebook where I think 95% of people were against the new Balloon Artistes Guild logo that Thelma, Rob and I had worked on.
I have decided to hold a logo competition, and if your logo is used you can win £100 worth of balloon products.

The competition will be open till the 8th March which is when we have the next Balloon Artists Guild star lecture days.

There is a thread here on what has gone before if you wish to have a look.

Here we have the yellow dog, the logo at the moment and then the metallic dog the newer design.

The font has gone from yellow to golden to match the dog.

For the logo design, if you would like to enter then just a rough sketch would be ok, just for the basic idea you have.

It does not have to be all finished and singing and dancing.

I so like the last logo Rob did. the only thing I would change is to have the balloon dog bits connect together but keep the same overall appearance. fantastic logo :)

Can I explain a little bit why I think the Logo needs updating, This is my point of view and not Grahams. A few years ago I joined the debate of the Bag logo and I literally threw together a design, It was a rough(ish) design and I thought it was OK. Anyway it was disliked by LOADS of people, not many people seemed to like it so the Logo discussion went a bit dead, that Logo however ended up being used and is the old one that Graham is wanting to update, it never was officially meant to be the logo for BAG and I never intended for it to be the final design. This is the reason why I think it needs sorting out as a real logo has never been properly sorted really.
The old design is a little shoddy, I look at it and thing, hmmmm, it could be loads better, it really was thrown together as are most of the mock ups I do. Personally I think a Logo has to fill 2 criteria, simple and clean. the description of a logo is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol, in MY eyes, the simpler the better, too complicated and then your turn it from a logo into a picture and I wonder if that is where the newer idea is going wrong, it is really a logo? I am not sure. hence the reason why I went back to the drawing board and redesigned the Old logo with a new twist which you can see above
