This months model of the month is the line work Whale. I did post a Whale tutorial onto BalloonTube
but that was one with a few more balloon in the design. This is the link if you wanted to view that one,

This is a 4 balloon line work design Whale,
this is the complimentary pack that people will receive with their orders this month.

Pre stretch the 260 Black before you inflate as you do need to use a lot of this balloon.
Inflate the first 260 Black leaving between 4/5 fingers un-inflated.
Make two 2 finger pinch twists followed by a 9 finger bubble.
Then twist another 9 finger bubble and twist into the two pinch twists.

Then inflate the Ivory Silk 260, you can use White but I prefer the look of the Ivory.
Leave 5 fingers un-inflated and attach the balloon to the two pinch twists.
Make a 9 finger bubble and twist this in between the two Black 9 finger bubbles.
Then make another 9 finger bubble back to the two pinch twists.

On the black balloon you now need a 6 finger bubble and a 1 finger pinch twist.
One of the eyes will attach to this pinch twist later.

You then need a 9 finger bubble and another 1 finger pinch twist for the other eye to fit to later.
Then make the last 6 finger bubble and twist this into the two black pinch twists.
The last sequence of bubbles should sit snugly around the 9 finger centre bubbles of the Whale.

For the tail of the Whale inflate the 260 black and leave 5 fingers un-inflated,
make two 2 finger pinch twists.

You then need a 6 finger bubble followed by a 4 finger bubble and then a 2 finger pinch twist.

Then make a 2 finger bubble and twist this into the two pinch twists that you started with.

You then need a 6 finger bubble and a 4 finger bubble for the other side of the tail which
is twisted into the single pinch twist.

Make another 2 finger bubble and twist this into the double pinch twist.

You then need a 6 finger bubble that is twisted into the two pinch twists on the Whales main body.
Then another 6 finger bubble back to the double pinch twist on the tail. Deflate the rest of the balloon.

Make a 6 finger bubble in the Ivory balloon and twist this into the two pinch twists on the tail.
You can just have one Ivory 6 finger bubble but I prefer two to make the rear of the Whale a little more bulky.
So make another 6 finger bubble and twist this back into the pinch twists at the centre of the Whale.

The rest of the Ivory balloon will make the eyes later.

You then need to inflate the 160 and leave approx 4/5 fingers un-inflated, make a small
1 finger bubble followed by a 6 finger bubble and a 4 finger bubble and twist together.

Then make another 6 finger and 4 finger bubble for the other fin of the Whale.
Push the remainder of the 160 up between the centre of the Whales body.

And push the fins so they are between the 9 finger bubbles of the Ivory and Black balloons

You then need a 6 finger and 4 finger bubble for the top fin, this is twisted into the two black pinch twists.

Make a 2 finger bubble followed by two 1 finger pinch twists.
Push the remainder of the 160 between the 6 and 4 finger top fin bubble bubble and wrap
this around the centre of the Whale to bulk out his middle section. Twist the 160 into
the two 160 pinch twists and discard the rest of the balloon.

You now need to make the eyes, have the Ivory balloon with a two finger bubble.
Make a 1 finger bubble and tie to make one of the eyes.
Push the air along the Ivory a little as you need some slack that will help to pull the
front of the Whale together a little when the eyes are attached.

Make the other 1 finger bubble and tie a secure knot.
The slack between the eyes should be approx a 4 finger bubble length when stretched out.

Attach one of the eyes to the pinch twist. You can see the gap between the top 9 finger bubbles.
Once the other eye is attached this will close up a little. Push the other eye through the centre
of the Whales body pulling tightly and attach to the other pinch twist.
This should make the front section of the Whale sit a lot closer together.

P.S, forgot to say.............oops.
I also put a twist in the 160 where it comes through the two Black 9 finger
bubbles as this also helps to close the top bubbles up as well.

Add some artwork to the eye.

Got my order today. Thank you Graham and Lyn. I forgot you included the balloons for model of the month. Here is my effort. The two initial pinch twists get some abuse as there is quite a lot going on at this point by the end. Great fun. Thank you.

We all have our cross to bear, but some of us need more wood than others!

Done it.  After a lot of swearing.  (But you need to send more balloons with your orders - see the waste pile!)
