Just looking through all the old model of the months for some inspiration for this months challenge and I've noticed that it looks like less and less people seem up for the challenge.

Are the models too difficult? shall I put up some easier ones to work out?

Suggestions are always welcome, this months is a bit late due to Don being over etc.

I'm not a very advanced twister but this thread is challenging my limits & teaching me new techniques.  Now, if I can come up with that dog from last month at my level, I don't think they're too difficult.  I like the Challenge!  Keep it comin'!!

We have decided that as we have just had the David Grist memorial lecture in the UK given by Don Caldwell that perhaps it may be appropriate to have one of David's models from his DVD set. So this months challenge is a parody of tigger.

If anyone would like to purchase any of David's DVD's they are on the site here;

All monies raised from the sales goes to his family.

That looks like a good one Graham... will do my best to try it!

Up until a few months ago I always tried to do these and watched for the next one coming along... they were a great challenge and really helped me improve as a twister.

Then I just got busy one month and never got back into the routine  ... have now made a mental note 'must try harder'

OK - here's my attempt.  Not too bad working from a picture.  I was very pleased with the head.  The body, not as much.0607092052.jpg[/attachment:32ch83jq]0607092053a.jpg[/attachment:32ch83jq]0607092053b.jpg[/attachment:32ch83jq]

Ida,
He possibly needs shorter legs but otherwise looks OK to me. On the DVD David only gives him a 3 body in orange + 1 goldenrod and I added the extra to bulk him up. You may like the look of tigger thinner?

and thanks to you both for having a go  :D

I like him a little thicker as well.  My friend was twisting with me yesterday.  Here is the one she did... with me telling her pretty much step by step  :P0607092054.jpg[/attachment:pbw4lcsc]  She used the 3 orange 1 goldenrod body on hers.  We both used a 160 tail... not sure which I like better, that or the 260...

Looking back at mine, I'm not liking his ears... it looks too much like a bow.  I'm thinking they need to be done differently.  I see on yours Graham, you did 2 bubble lock twisted for each ear?? I like that better than mine but it still looks like a bow.  :?

Here the instructions, a little bit late but we have been all over the place lately. Leamington, Darlington etc etc.

This Tigger is from a DVD from David Grist, there are plenty more great models to make and the whole 9 DVD set is available for £150 or you can have a single DVD for £20 with all money raised going to David's family. Click on the link for more details; http://sempertexballoons.co.uk/index.ph ... _str=&pg=2

Start with an orange 260, 7 fingers un-inflated and twist a 4 finger bubble for the top of the mouth, then two 5 finger fold twists for the cheeks. Then a 4 finger bubble for one side of the face, followed by a 1 finger pinch twist to separate the ears. The two ears are four 2/3 finger bubbles twisted around the pinch twist and then another 4 finger bubble for the other side of the face.

Twist a 1 finger pinch twist at the back of the cheek fold twists to push them forward and a 1 finger bubble for the neck.

Inflate a goldenrod 260, leaving 7 fingers un-inflated, attach the golden rod balloon to the centre of the two orange fold twists and twist a 7 finger fold twist.

Twist a 4 finger bubble for one side of the top of his mouth and twist the orange knot tightly around this twist and then do a second 4 finger bubble for the other side of his upper mouth and twist around the cheeks.
The eyes are two soft 3 finger bubbles that are stretched over the top pinch twist to give a thinner look for the eyes. You can break off the goldenrod here if you like and re-attach at the pinch twist for the arms but I just twist another 1 finger bubble and attach it to the pinch twist so that the neck has two 1 finger bubbles and better support for the head.

Arms and body, leave 4 fingers un-inflated. Twist a 1 finger bubble followed by a 6 finger fold twist for the hand and a 7 finger twist for the arm followed by a 2 finger pinch twist to attach the neck bubbles to. Then repeat with a 7 finger arm bubble, 6 finger fold twist and a 1 finger bubble to complete the other arm.

Use the remainder of the golden rod and twist a 7 finger bubble and attach to the lower body pinch twist and discard the rest of the balloon.

Body and tail

Inflate an orange 260 into a spiral or you can just inflate the balloon normally and twist the tail around the hand at the end for the bounce look with the tail. It does look better if you can inflate with the spiral though. Attach the 260 to the bottom pinch twist and twist a 6 finger bubble around the neck pinch twist and then another 6 finger bubble to around the bottom pinch twist, the rest of the balloon is the very long tail.

Legs
Inflate an orange 260 approx to ¾ length, twist a 1 finger bubble and the a 6/7
Finger fold twist for the foot and a 5 finger bubble for the leg. Repeat for the second leg, 5 finger bubble, 6/7 finger fold twist and a 1 finger bubble and discard the rest of the balloon and attach to the bottom pinch twist.
