After seeing Thelma's snail made with the caterpillar balloons, I prefer the snail with drawn on eye's.

This is the snail we have been making since 2005 with a caterpillar and 12"LOL.   It can be made in under a minute and last about a month holding it's shape.

A BIG thanks to Graham and Alistair for your assistance. I have no reference for anything like this particular model. What I'm doing now still isn't quite right (the fact that I work primarily with 160's has something to do with it, I know), but I am making some progress with your generous help. I hope to post something  worth seeing next week.

Here's my snail - I know I made the neck too long, but maybe he's the sort who likes to stick his neck out??

had a bit of a slow night last night, so I thought I'd have a go at it.  Didn't have the picture so went completely on memory.  I think I did pretty good actually

Made from 3 260's - that had previously had other lives as an Elephant, a Fish and a Teddy Bear.  This is my first attempt at just creating something.  Is not as good as all the others in here but my daughter will recognize as a snail - if it doesn't deflate overnight.

First attempt at uploading pictures so I hope I have done it right.

Well Lisa's snail may be sticking it's head out too far, but I think mine is saying "Give it up Millie, and wait for the instructions!!!"

it's closer than the first attempt and looks like a usable design to me.  Hopefully Graham will be posting the instructions soon

I think I misunderstood in these model of month threads are you meant to try copy the model in the first post or just model whatever is mentioned?  Sorry of I posted my snail incorrectly.

It's meant to be you try to make the model your way and at the end of the month I put the instructions up to how I make it but we are very flexible about it all and it's nice that everyone is putting variations and other ideas up. I think this months model of the month has been the busiest one ever that we have done. I stopped doing them a while back as only one or two people joined in and writing up the instructions and pictures some months took me 4/5 hours so it's great that this months took off so quickly when we have a model that moves so slowly  :D

Need to think what we can do for next months challenge or has someone got a model they would like to share?

Here my entry for the month. I used 160's as they are my balloon of choice and modified the snail accordingly for the smaller balloon. Congrats to everyone on their wide display of creative twisting! :D
