I really dug Petra's frog design. I made one per her instructions and I instantly saw a possible monkey in that design.

So I redid it in brown and got this Chipmunk:

That wasn't the monkey I was looking for, so I did it in brown again and got this ... something:

It reminds me of Gizmo from the Gremlins movie.

I still haven't gotten the monkey which seemed so ovious at first. But I'll keep going.

There's a cute Mouse hiding in there somewhere too.

Anyone up for a challenge? Using this sidewall bubble starting point, what animals can you make?

And here's a Giraffe. This is based on Andrew MacDonald's Giraffe - everything except the face of course.

Two more for the that's-good-for-inspiration file. Not quite what I was going for.

Another failed monkey attempt:

My daughter (Ella) said she saw a Bunny so I tried to make a bunny:

I've added a lower lip onto this one. Once you've made the face/nose and the eyes are attached. From the back-of-the-head pinch twist, make a .5" bubble, a 1" pinch twist. Tuck the .5" bubble up into the bottom of the face. Make another soft .5" bubble and connect back to the back-of-the-head pinch twist. Squeeze the second .5" bubble up into the face too.

Thanks Graham,

I was hoping everyone would use the sidewall bubble face as a starting point and see what they come up with.

Thanks to Petra for the inspiration!

Hi Sean,

Please don't forget that I wasn't the one who started this idea.
Twistina used it for her dog, and I only played with that idea, just like you.

I do like your side wall bubble face creations!
Your last bunny made me think of a snake.

O, yes.....???? Yes.
I saw the lower lip of the bunny and thought that the side wall bubble could be a nice attachment point for some teeth.
This is what I came up with:

At the millenniumjam I also made this 1 160 bunny:
