Patricia, these are the last few questions unless others have any more for you?

25, How do you keep the enthusiasm going & what still excites you about our great world of latex

26, What inspires or is your thought process in coming up with a new design

27, Who would you like to work with dead or alive?

28, What makes you laugh?

Hi Patricia,
I have just come back from the states, disappointed that I did not see you there, so I am so happy that you are right
here on our own forum.
Question for you if I may.

Hi Colin...I missed you too! I got to see your lovely dresses on bhq. When I saw the picture of you on stage I was so excited to see you!

1) if you were stuck in a lift with anyone living or dead who would it be?

If I were stuck in a lift I would choose to be there with you! No hanky panky...silly...bring balloons! We'll have the jam of course :D

2) If you could be any animal or bird what wold you chose to be?

A BIRD!!! I want to fly. My favorite dreams are that I can fly like Peter Pan. I'm seriously considering taking paragliding lessons. Perhpas I'll just drop in at Twist and Shout eh? I don't know if I'll be ready for that by then...but Maybe 2010.

Great to see you here
hugs Colin

Take care Colin...I hope to see you at Twist and Shout Or Millenium Jam if I make it there.

Graham,

All your entries seem to be hats... :?: :?: :?:

I interpreted the point of the competition to be that you had to make a body so that you could still use Patricia's Twisted Critter head designs but so that they were 'balloonimals' and not hats.

Martin.

Martin, I've moved all the entries over onto the other thread.
I thought we had to design a body etc to go with the hats & keeping the design of the hat????????

Perhaps I have this wrong?

This is the email Patricia sent;
I would love to have a contest on your forum. It wouldn't be a complicated one. It was inspired by Martin. I would like to see how many people have actually created bodies for the heads I use on my hats. For each person that posts a picture of their creation, their name would go into a drawing. At the end of a specified date we could draw a name. I would send that person a DVD of their choice.
& after re-reading I think it could be interpreted either way so the only stipulation is that we must be able to see the original design of a hat from one of Patricia's DVD's or from her portfolio page.
We better decide the rules :geek: although as long as you post a design your still in with a chance of winning as all that enter will go into a hat with the winner being pulled out so it's just a fun competition with a little luck at the end to win.

25, How do you keep the enthusiasm going & what still excites you about our great world of latex?

I think Creativity is one of the things that keeps me excited. Just when I think there is nothing else that people can do with balloons I find I'm wrong!

26, What inspires or is your thought process in coming up with a new design?

Everything inspires me. I see things in clouds and thing...yeah...I can twist that! I go home and viola, I make that thing I just saw in the clouds! I was browsing at a bookstore and found a childrens book called "I Can Draw Cartoons" in the discount section. I found some wonderful things in it that I thought I could twist. My Vampire is one of them. See photo on this link: http://www.balloonhq.com/photos/db/comp ... catmapid=0
This vampire was inspired by a picture in that book. I love sitting with newbies at balloon jams. I see things from their perspective I never noticed before! It also helps me understand how to become a better teacher.

One of the greatest invention is having a camera in my cell phone. I snap pictures of things I see that I think would be fun to twist. It's also cheaper than buying every book I see because there is one or two pictures I want to try to twist.

27, Who would you like to work with dead or alive?

David Grist. I miss him and enjoyed what little time I got to spend with him. He was such an inspiration in so many ways.

28, What makes you laugh?

Children make me laugh. I love watching them learn and seeing their excitement from discovery. I thoroughly enjoy watching my 10 month old grandson.

Hi Graham,

Yes, I produce my own DVD's. It came about because I have so many idea's that I want to share with the balloon community. I had no idea what other people would think about them, or if they would like them at all. I was a bit nervous when I started. I have been pleasantly surprised!

I have also produced DVDs for others. Ken Stillman, Mark Reid, and Carol Turman (the later two are both well known in the face painting industry).

Believe it or not it was more frightening for me to make DVDs for others than myself.

Out takes... I had plenty I could have used, but didn't. There are a few bloopers that I just left in.

Do you want me to include out takes?

Patricia
