Do you use the Not uplighters from Ikea?
Which bit do you use?
Do you only use the base and the pole?

Double the amount of use you get by taking the cable and the bulb fitting of the top piece.  Turn it upside down and it sits beautifully on a table. It is slim enough not to impose on a table but steady enough to make a great stand.  Useful in itself for low decor or add another pole to it for a taller piece.  Nothing innovative in these pictures, just messing about with the idea.

I must have used hundreds of these stands over the last couple of years and always throw that bit away! Will have to get another to take another look :) thanks for sharing :) x

I did have one reservation about the upside down light holder,
It required stabilising because the fitting inside sat proud of the actual casing.
So I took a look at it to see if I could get the fixture out of it easily.
Here is how to do it.

That's a great tip Thelma - thank you!

I was thinking that it might be unsteady on the funnel bit. Would there be room enough to add a water/sand weight in the funnel ?

As I haven't tried it this is just me thinking out loud!  :D

Great idea, will have to dig out the end bit and try, unless I binned them.
