Inflate a 260 Sempertex modelling balloon so that you have approx a 4 finger length un-inflated at the tail end of the balloon.

Bring an 8 finger length portion of the balloon back onto itself as in diagram two.

Then twist the ears into the balloon at about the half way point which will leave your dog with a 4 finger length nose and approx 8 finger fold twist for the ears.

Measure a 6 finger length from the ears and bring the balloon back on itself again. At about the 2 finger point away from the ears twist the balloon together so that the dog ends up with approx an 8 finger fold twist for the front legs.

Measure the body of the dog, it will need to be between 6/8 fingers in length and twist the balloon at this point several times. Bring the balloon back on itself to this twist and measure an 8 finger bubble so that the back legs match the dogs front legs and twist the balloon together at this point making the back legs.

The tail should be approx a 2 finger bubble.

And then hopefully you've twisted your very first dog that looks similar to the diagram

Please don't worry if they are not too similar as we all put different amounts of pressure onto the balloon when twisting, the more you make the model and the more experience twisting different animals the more you will get the feel for balloon modelling. But please be warned as it's very addictive

"TOP TIP"
If you make the dog as above it is relatively easy for someone to untwist the dog.
So to over come this when making the dog push the nose through the ear fold twist, the body through the front leg fold twist and the tail through the back leg fold twist so locking everything in place. Some instructions that may well help with this can be found here under genuine lock twist;
