Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Ed Sheeran Balloon Model
June 25, 2018, 02:28:04 PM
I really enjoyed this Ed Sheeran video too, I only came across it as I was recommended to check out his skills with guitar and pedal loopers.
It also reminded me a little bit of this unusual short film I assisted on a few years ago, filmed on the beautiful North Yorkshire moors.
The head design on the abstacty blue 'person' was inspired and based on Graham Lee's excellent faces as in his figure in the car.

It was brilliant to be there yesterday in Birmingham, catching up with old friends (I don't mean old as in old as we are all young in heart) and seeing Wallie's excellent workshop, lots of original ideas and approach and good to get a few bigger balloons out too.

Model Of The Month / Re: November Competition (Rudolph)

As well as the competition I was able find these reindeer in the wild and take some photos whilst I was out for a walk, the snow seems to have cleared up now it's but still quite cold

These are all winners and workers.
I like the parrot on a perch which I made for the missus the other day (having been watching a Graham Lee one balloon model DVD), and then the love birds on perch, always a favourite and then another sort of perch which was a fish with the one balloon bit being the fishing rod. We know how to have a laugh

Excellent,
Is the chain Antonia pinch line or string of bubble, looks good.

Good with the loop behind the eyes to raise and shape the face.
I made my black eyes a bit to long really so my rabbit looks a bit evil but I think my carrots were very realistic.

just in time
gold-dust
well, a 9 carrot design anyway

I am very happy to have won this month's competition and am all set up with a fantastic new koala balloon face - I know this is going to be useful
courtesy of Graham Lee.
As for my prize I am spoiled for choice but I think I will just start at the top of the list and go for Simply Shonna's exotic birds and sea creatures especially as most of my twisted birds and fish can be quite teeny tiny so this will get me blasted out and filling some space with some nice rounds etc.
Thank you Graham for organising the competition, no rush to post out to me as I do hope to pop round before too long, pardon the pun, or of course to catch up on the road.
As I am not here posing with my prize I have had to pick out a random image from my files but something which does express my happiness at being this month's winner, as you can see this picture was taken a long time ago before the days of colour film

I know the saying 'don't mess with perfection'; but I've been experimenting with Graham's cars to try to simplify the design for speed whilst trying to maintain necessary features:
There's no middle section on these cars but each one was made with just two balloons (plus 321 wheels)
Underside view shows how the wheels are connected together, you can see the linking strand above the middle section rather than through all three sections

Looks good, I like the way the lines for the bonnet and boot go long-ways and the cabin section goes side-ways, makes it very car like.

a fascinating scientific analysis of this rare species, it must be very rare indeed but I will donate a small amount to save it,
