I have a lady who would like a balloon delivery for her twins 21st on 27th December.

I did a lootle for one of her relations last week with a big 40 above it. I assume the requirement is similar.

If anyone would like to speak to her re doing the job PM me and I will pass your number on.

Having nearly run out of Big Bear Heads and seeing all these wonderful new designs I thought it time to order some more.

Brilliant communication from Shonna and team about stocks - we are all so lucky that Shonna has worked and pushed hard to get all these new colours in BBH.

Katherine at Adventure in Fun had my order packed and posted within an hour of me ordering, what wonderful service.

600 Big Bear Heads now winging their way to my balloon bag and in so many more colours than last time!

Does anyone know anywhere that stocks these and does not have a minimum order requirement?

Thanks,

Hi everybody,

I have been working to develop a new site that will replace all the different sites I have been maintaining for my balloons

It's not 100% finished but is now up at //http://www.balloonimals.co.uk

If anyone gets chance then I would really value any constructive criticism.

Thanks,
Martin.

Balloon Chit Chat / Buster Balloon Skype sessions
March 18, 2012, 07:53:41 AM
Has anyone had their 1 hour session with Buster yet?

If so how was it and how did you spend the hour?

Still need to organise mine.

I love all the David Brenion DVDs but one thing intrigues me...

At both release points it has been the Backpacks and the Masks DVDs that appear to win the plaudits, with the Hearts and Rounds DVD seeming to be a little bit in the background.

However, in my own twisting it is the Hearts and Round dvds that are the most valuable... I have so many 'go to' designs that I use all the time from volume 1 (Monkey, Pig, Frog, Penguin etc.) and have already started making the most of volume 2 (Elephant, Lion, Pegacorn, new penguin).

I hardly ever make anything from Backpacks and whilst I love the mask stuff I am not sure when I will be actively using the material.

Is it just me? Am I mising something?

We are having the next North West pub jam on July 7th at The Swan Tavern in Winwick, Warrington. Start time is 8.30pm but some people do tend to arrive earlier.

The jams are relaxed affairs, very informal and a chance to chat with other twisters and share ideas.

It would be great to see some new faces and so if you can make it please try to do so.

Thanks,
Martin.

Farewell from what? If he isn't lecturing anymore will this be the end for his DVDs also?

Balloon Chit Chat / Dress form for young children
March 21, 2011, 11:06:44 PM
I need to make 3 dresses for young children for an event in April and understand it will be easier on a 'form'

I don't fancy paying the £100 for a proper one on eBay, does anyone have any ideas for a cheaper alternative?

Thanks,
Martin.

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon Dog Flash Mob
February 20, 2011, 10:49:38 PM
Yesterday 150 balloon twisters had lunch spread out across a busy shopping mall in Boston.

On cue they then all stood up, mouth inflated a 260, made a balloon dog, held it up above their heads, gave it to a child and then left.

It was pretty cool...

Just did Tonya's details class at T&S... which was really really great.

Tonya must have plugged Balloon Chat at least 15 times at the class and said what nice people were on the site.

Looking forward to the 321 class!

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon injury... no laughing!
January 06, 2011, 05:20:57 PM
As a number of you know (and others will have read) a few of us NW based twisters get together every few months to have a chat, twist and a pint or two.

At these get togethers I am always happy to demonstrate my ability to mouth inflate a 260. At one of the events last year I was jokingly challenged by Fairby's wife (Carol) to inflate 2 balloons at once and, never one to back down from a challenge, I successfully inflated the 2 balloons simultaneously.

About 5 minutes after this feat I stood up and felt a sharp pain just above my stomach of which my amateur diagnosis was that I had sprained my diaphragm. The pain went away after a few days. Since that time I have continued to mouth inflate every now and again, but in the last month or so have been in increasing pain just below my breast bone and have a felt a lump starting to grow in the same place.

Having convinced myself of some sort of tumour today I bit the bullet and went to see the Doctor. Her diagnosis is that I have the most inflamed 'xiphisternum' that she has ever seen (basically the muscle at the base of the chest bone).

The result: 2 weeks of anti-inflammatorys and banned from blowing balloons up for at least a month. As I said... no laughing!

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon New Year's Resolutions
December 27, 2010, 10:06:43 PM
So now Christmas is over I am thinking about the New Year and resolutions...

My balloon related New Year's resolution is to learn more stuff for boys as it is an area I really struggle with, probably because I have 3 daughters. Step 1 in my resolution is to attend Tonya's class at T&S.

What balloon related resolution does anyone else plan?

Picture Gallery / Snowman in a globe (Quicker by Tube)
December 06, 2010, 10:50:05 PM
A few weeks ago I dreamt up that I should make Xmas decor this year in the stlye of large floating snowglobes.

After investigating a few methods of getting things inside balloons I decided to give Graham & Thelma's 'Quicker by Tube' a try and so after waiting expectantly for Royal Mail to get through the snow the DVD arrived yesterday and here is my 1st attempt.

For a 1st attempt I am quite pleased with it, but next time I will make the round balloons a lot smaller and put twice as many in so that they settle better as the snow. In addition to the snowman below I plan to try a santa, xmas tree and princess. Will post more as they come along.
