I got started as a kid by being mesmerized watching BOZO the Clown here in the United States when I was a kid.  I would always try and make a simple 3 twist dog.  Then as I got older I never forgot about this obession.  Then one day I was walking through a local event and saw a person making balloon animals. So I bought a bag of assorted 260s  and a hand pump and went from there.  Then I started using it as a team building tool for my sales staff.  Now twenty years later I am pretty sure that my DNA has traces of latex in it. I work with balloons full time and I am always looking at ways to change the creations I make. My biggest frustration is not having the time to play around and make new designs or brush up on ones that I have not made in a while.  I have been popping in here for several years now..I wish I could do it with greater frequency

Welcome / Reintroduction
June 12, 2011, 10:28:12 PM
I just wanted to say Hi!....again.

It has been a long while since I have actively participated in the forum.  From being very busy to being a little disillusioned from other forums I stepped back. Just the other day while on a trip to New York City I asked myself what I really missed that put the extra little fun in the balloon world for me....it was the interaction in the forums. This has been the greatest place for help and exchange of ideas I have ever been associated with.

I am in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area of the United States.

I have been twisting off and on for over 15 years. I do private parties and community events ( the larger the better) and do a great deal of restaurant work.

My influences have been Don Caldwell, Robbie Furman , Thelma here has helped me a great deal as well.

My goals are to continue to grow my company and make people smile and laugh while maintaining professionalism and ethical values.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / I need a frog
June 09, 2009, 09:43:36 PM
I am in a bit of a pickle. I need a frog that is beyond the basic frog yet not so detailed that it takes forever to make.

I am just having some type of mental block. If anyone could post some images maybe that coould get me off on the right foot.

Thanks

Hi to everyone!

I am Kahuna Balloona ( Pittsburgh - Pennsylvania -USA), I have been lurking in the background for the last several months.

I have been making balloon creations for the the last 6-7 years. I started out making the standard 3 twist dog for my children and then started asking myself what else can I make? Well, it was not long before I was addicted.  Now, each day when I get up I check into a couple of forums to see what has been created or what topics are being discussed...same thing happens several timmes daily and just before bed each night.

I stay busy with events during a good part of the year along with making sure that I pay my way forward by twisting for local elementary schools and adult day cares gratis.

My goals for the next couple of months are to conquer weaving. I really want to learn a great birthday cake and a woven hat.

I am happy to be here and hope that I can contribute
