Balloon Chit Chat / Air wick advert
April 11, 2016, 06:05:01 PM
My wife just asked me about this ad that she just saw on the tv, I found it on you tube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAeLQFfoL5U

She wondered if I knew who had done the balloon costume, I said I would ask. I think it may be an Australien ad but not sure.

Anyone got any ideas?

Balloon Chit Chat / Angel advice
December 16, 2014, 05:33:40 PM
Hi all, firstly I hope everyone is doing well and you all have a great Christmas and heres hoping for a wonderful 2015.

Secondly I am after some advice. I got back in contact with a school mate of mine a while back and we meet up from time to time when we can. I popped around to see him this last weekend after doing n event and took his daughter an Olaf sculpture for her recent 4th birthday.
During our conversation he and his wife asked me if I could make an angel with helium balloons.
Each January 15 for the last few years they have released a 'chinese lantern in memory of their son Max who was born on Nov 24 and passed away on Jan 15. We send our angel back to up to heaven they said to me, but are a worried about continuing to use lanterns, if you could make an angel  to 'send' upthat would just be amazing.
I said I didn't think I could do it with helium filled balloons but I would try to make an angel sculpture, and suspend it from helium balloons to fly it.
If anyone has any better suggestions then I am open for them. also, what angel is the best does everyone think, I have done a search and seen a couple but am wondering what you wonderful folk may think. I am honoured to have been asked to do this, I always try to do the very best I can but this is extra special.

Thanks for reading this and any help you can offer will be very gratefully accepted.

Off Topic.......... plus Hidden Talents / Movember
November 16, 2014, 04:46:35 PM
Hi all

I hope it is ok to post this hear, if it isn't then just shout at me.
A couple of years ago I did Movember with the company I worked for, this year I am doing it off my own back and it is a bit more personal as I have had a member of our family affected by mental health issues and one of my brother in laws is currently going through chemo treatment and battling cancer. Below is the blurb from the Mo team and links to my page, any help would be great whether it is a donation or just spreading the word.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

For the 30 days of Movember I've committed to changing the face of men's health, I'm asking you to support my efforts by making a donation at http://mobro.co/johnhunter-haschka.

We need to take action, as the current state of men's health is unacceptable:

·      Around the world, men die on average 6 years earlier than women - there's no biological reason
·      Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer in the UK
·      Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 25-49 years
·      Tragically, 12 British men died from suicide today. Tomorrow, 12 more will die too. On average, 12 men die everyday from suicide in the UK

The Movember Foundation is working around the clock and around the world to improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. They can't do this without our support, so please support my efforts to make a difference.

If you're interested in learning more about the programmes Movember funds please click here.

There's a lot riding on my efforts this Movember and I'd really appreciate your support.

Together, we can have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.

Thanks

John

I am wondering how many people here use mains powered electrical items when performing?
If you do may I ask if it is PAT tested?

Balloon Chit Chat / Qualatex balloon magic magazine
April 29, 2012, 03:12:26 PM
Does anyone know when the above magazine is likely to land on my door mat?
My Father-in-law paid for a three year subscription for me for Christmas and the money has left his account but I have seen no sign of the magazine.
Is any one else waiting for it to arrive?

Balloon Chit Chat / How to work out a price?
March 05, 2011, 07:53:37 PM
How do you work out how to price a large sculpture?
I have been asked to put a cost on doing a bi-plane and or a grand prix style car, but am not sure how to work out a fair price. Obviously I can cost out the materials, but what is a good way to work out a fair price on the time taken. I have a sort of idea but thought I would take advantage of the great minds and knowledge on here.
All and any ideas are gratefully received  :D

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Stuffing
January 03, 2011, 03:27:25 PM
Hi all,

Happy New year to you all

I hope you all had as great a Christmas as I did followed by a really nice new years eve ( I even managed to squeeze a good birthday in between too  :D )

I am trying to work on a little something that requires me to change a sword colour and therefore need to stuff one 260 into another. I can do it but it is really fiddly and doesn't always work the way I am doing it. I have tried various things and at the moment I have got a thin garden can I am using.
How do you guys do it?
Any advice as ever is gratefully received

Picture Gallery / Princess/Bride/Angel
November 21, 2010, 11:08:00 AM
At the Mark Byrne day a very kind young lady showed me a quick and simple Princess and said if you do the dress in white instead of pink it makes a quick, easy and effective Bride.
I had a go one evening last week and when I had made it my wife said if you were to put wings on it would make a nice Angel I think.

So I did,

Balloon Chit Chat / Blue Peter
April 28, 2009, 05:54:52 PM
Did anyone see Blue Peter today.
My wife recorded it as one of the presenters was wearing a balloon dress and the other two then had a race to make a jester hat, I didn't catch the name of the lady doing the instructions.
It was a very impressive Blue Peter ship made out of balloons :D

Hi all
Wasn't sure which area I should put this and this looked like the safest bet.
I haven't been very active on the forum recently, I know you haven't missed me,in fact I have been inactive with my balloons a bit as well. Events in my life have been not of the best over recent months but life goes on and I am back, bad luck you lot

In various conversations with a few people, mainly my brother in recent times it has been suggested that it would be good if I learnt a little bit of 'magic' to go along with my balloons to enable me to give a more complete and rounded childrens party option (possibly not the best word usage)
Balloon modelling, or bespoke balloon sculptures, as I like to call it remains my main focus, but it does seem like a good idea to be able to offer as much as possible.

My questions are therefore , what is the best way, where is the best place and how do I go about learning and finding out about magical happenings?

I know there is Grahams day in June and if in the next week or so I can arrange it I will be there, but apat from that any advice or help would be very gratefully received.

If what I need to know should be kept a bit quiet, a nods as good as a a wink to a blind bat (if you get that quote you are not only getting on but have a terrific sense of humour) please pm me

Cheers all

Website "Chat" Help / Finally
March 18, 2009, 10:33:29 AM
It has taken a while to getto this point but finally we have managed to get my website running. We have lots more to do but it was important to get it up for peronal as well as practical reasons, suffice to say we wanted my Dad to be able to see it working.
If you fancy a peek and can give any feedback that would be great, as I say it is a work in progress with a gallery page and others to go on
