Good morning all.  You may not have noticed but Christmas is creeping up on us. Does anybody have any Christmassy models that they can share with us?

Balloon Chit Chat / Artwork
December 08, 2013, 10:23:26 AM
As one who is not too clever with the marker pen I was delighted to find on the Big Bear Head videos by Shonna (for sale on the Sempertex  site above) a good section on artwork. This is really well explained and easy to follow. I love these big balloons they are so versatile.

Balloon Chit Chat / White marker pens
December 07, 2013, 07:01:20 AM
Can anybody recommend a white marker pen to use on balloons? I have tried the Sharpie but I find them very runny and the balloon colour shows through, even though I have given them a really good shake as directed.

Balloon Chit Chat / Big Bear Bodies
December 02, 2013, 08:10:01 AM
As one who suffers the pains of arthritis in the fingers and hands I am finding the Bear Bodies are really good to work with. I am making some really impressive models fairly quickly without ending up with  very sore hands. If anybody has any tips for working with this condition I would like to hear them, it can be embarrassing when you are making a model for some one when you slip out with an "ouch you bugger, that hurt" it don't go down to well.

Good morning

Are there any pictures anywhere of models using the bear body balloons? I would like to give they a try but I would like some idea what I can make with them.

Cheers

Well! what a fantastic two day in Surrey with some fantastic people. I have not been twisting for long and to have so many people willing to help and guide me  makes me feel good. I look forward to meeting you all again soon.

Balloon Chit Chat / OUCH!!
June 11, 2013, 07:37:37 AM
I had a fairly long session of twisting at the weekend. After 5 hrs non stop the pain started to set in on the muscle at the top of my fore arm, this was more than an ache, it was real pain and it caused me to stop twisting. When I finished the session both arms from the elbows down were sore and now two days later they still have not recovered. Can anybody offer any advice on how to stop this happening please.

Balloon Chit Chat / Sore arms

Following a five hour twisting session last week I still have very sore muscles in my arms just below and just above the elbows. Does anybody suffer with similar problems and how do they overcome them?

Balloon Chit Chat / Insurance
October 25, 2012, 06:20:10 PM
Can anybody advise on Public Liability Insurance. I have spoken to Bapia after receiving one of their cards with a balloon order but it seems that they are mainly of use to balloon decorators not twisters.

Thanks

Balloon Chit Chat / Care and Share Day Halesowen
September 14, 2012, 07:39:11 AM
I now have my first Care and Share Day under my belt and what an enjoyable day it was too. I felt really at home even though I was an obvious novice compared to others, there was no shortage of advice. Trouble is, by the time I got home I couldn't remember half of what I learnt.

Thanks Graham and everyone else who was there and I look forward to the next one that I can attend.

Hi Folks

I live in Dorset and I have been trying to find someone within a radius os say 75 miles who could give me some private tuition. I am getting to grips with my twisting but I do need a push in the right direction. If you are able to help please give me a call on 01308 455733.

Kindest regards

Welcome / Busking
August 06, 2012, 07:21:33 AM
It's early days for me yet but I am trying to familiarise  myself with the laws, do's and don'ts of busking in town centres. I am assuming that you cannot just turn up and do it and I want to start off correctly.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Welcome / First event
August 05, 2012, 05:00:33 AM
I've just had my first event where I was twisting balloons. The event was a fund raiser for the Devon Air Ambulance and it involved about 40 children. I started to make swords for them and I couldn't knock them out quick enough.

I am now working through Grahams first video and enjoying every minute.

Regards to all
