Balloon Chit Chat / Exclusive Qualatex stock
April 21, 2014, 09:30:32 AM
Last night I watched the recent episode of the balloon blast show on YouTube and It spoke about some stock that is only available from one shop in the states. This was robot heads and ninja heads. I can't understand why Qualatex go to the trouble of making the product for just for one shop to sell? Unless I have misunderstood the video.

Balloon Chit Chat / Best white markers?
September 18, 2013, 02:21:31 AM
I've been using Edding markers but find they take some time to get flowing when you first use it after a while of not using it. I also find them difficult to fill in a section like I would with a regular sharpie (this may be my clumsiness) what I'd like is a white marker that operates like a regular black sharpie and is not tip ex like.  Any suggestions?

Balloon Chit Chat / Two great new tutorials on YouTube
September 11, 2013, 11:23:03 PM
These came on line yesterday. Two really solid designs. First of all this Minion hat by Justin Reams.
http://youtu.be/PPxvNfc9A4Y

I've been raving about Justin's PDF's of late so was chuffed to see this - his first ever YouTube vid.

Secondly one of my fav YT twisters Yonaimy makes this wonderful baby shower piece. I think those of you who do delivery pieces could make use of this

Hope you guys get something from this.

To get them send the money via paypal to mailto:Justin_reams@hotmail.com">Justin_reams@hotmail.com or I guess you could speak to him on Facebook.

Ive brought the genie in the lamp, had a brief look through it, its 23 pages and very clear and concise though im yet to make it.

Balloon Chit Chat / Twist & shout 2014 cost
August 29, 2013, 08:33:24 AM
I'm considering going to Twist & Shout next year. What I wonder is how much would the trip roughly cost with flights accommodation and entrance ticket?

Also how does it work with the classes? Do you have to book all them in advance? Are there any you can just turn up to? Also what Actually happens apart from classes or is that what it's mostly about?

Thanks,

Chris

Balloon Chit Chat / Static from my mac pump
August 28, 2013, 07:49:24 AM
Sometimes when I inflate a 260 on my mac pump I can hear the static going up the balloon as its going up. I either go slow and it's ok or if I carry on it pops. Anyone know why this happens? Is it something I'm wearing?

Thanks

Balloon Chit Chat / Taming the child from hell
August 18, 2013, 05:40:26 PM
So today I met the devil child at one of my gigs. This child was doing everything possible that would constitute bad behaviour and most annoyingly running behind my table grabbing at all my gear. However her mum had just paid for a balloon and I was twisting for her at the time and doing nothing about her behaviour. I was very tempted to blow up and 11 inch round and pop it to scare her away, This seems like a very good idea but I didn't do it. Has anyone else ever employed tactic? Or am I just a sadistic nutter?

Balloon Chit Chat / What twisters do in autumn?
August 14, 2013, 09:47:18 PM
I've been having a really good summer so far twisting (this being my first season actually out there twisting) gigs have been easy to find and seeing a que form for something I'm making is one if the most rewarding feelings ever.

But my question is what happens in the autumn?  Summer is traditional for events for the kids with the weather and holidays. But what about  autumn? What sort of gigs do you do?

Any suggestions?

Thanks - chris

My middle finger is killing after yesterday's twisting gig. I only noticed it about 4-5 hours after. Bit of a random digit to strain. Any one else had this problem? I presume it's like going to the gym for the first time when you have never exercised a muscle prior and it naturally aches.

I need to get a radio mic with lapel mic. Theres seems to be loads on the market but which one to buy? Ive been told maplins are craplins for this and have been told audio technica is good. Im not looking to pay top money for it but more so middle of the market. As long as it dosent mess up on my show I'm happy.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chris
