Science lesson alert!!!

Just 4 seconds loss of oxygen to the brain is enough to kill you

So if you put helium in your lungs instead of air you out yourself at risk, same with any other gas, water, smoking inhalation, and even hands around your neck causing strangulation....

Sorry if it spoils anyone's fun but its a fact

People die every year from inhaling helium...

Famous cases in recent years to my knowledge !!

"students in USA inflated a 6 foot balloon with helium and climbed inside.. found dead next morning"

"13 year old birthday girl in Ireland, bought helium filled big foil number 13 by grand parents, she took them up to her room... found dead 2 hours later by parents and foil balloons empty of helium"

Friends of mine decided meeting family an friends at too many funerals so had a Smiley face party at home... bought about 12 18" foil smiley face balloons helium filled to dress the conservatory where they all ate a meal together.... later as all in lounge talking 2 of the younger boys ( about 10 and 12) came out of conservatory falling about as if drunk!!!... embarrassed Mum took them home accusing them of drinking grand dads whiskey..... when they went into the conservatory to check 12 balloons all deflated!!!..... phone call to mum to take them to hospital as whiskey was not touched.. and an evening spent in A&E

Another friend bought a tank of helium and had it in her car driving to an event to use it.... when she got there and tried to get out of her car she had what she thought a dizzy spell!!... when tank opened to use it was half empty!!!...it obviously had not been closed properly or had a slow leak!!

Sorry it happens.. people every year die from inhaling helium......its not the norm to inhale helium, hence why it gives people a silly voice.... Its should treated with caution and respect

and if you supply helium filled balloons you should tell your customers about the risks

When it comes to putting 5" balloons inside bigger balloons

I always inflate the bigger balloon with air while doing it, to save any helium loss and put the little balloon on a balloon straw.. push it into the balloon line up both nozzles and inflate the little balloon with air if the design is to be air filled (can be done with hand pump) or helium if the design it to be helium filled.. once you have inflated one it will act as a plug and if you need to top up the outer balloon you can do with air by pushing the little balloon out of the way..... continue till all little balloons are inflated and then deflate the bigger fully before inflating with helium if required..or just inflate to size for air fill..

If you have nitrogen or helium tanks and have the long thin gun style nozzle you can bypass the straw and just use this to inflate each balloon...

use the same gas in both... is the rule of decor..

the gas will move in both balloons and helium will get in your air filled and increase them in size and they will pop/explode...

inflate you 36" to approx 30/32" and it will be fine

its air filled sculpture/design created with 5" balloons

they dont float very long with helium with nothing attached to them, they wont float in a design with extra weight

5/6 years ago they sold them in argos and woollies for about £15 each
now they only place you see them is on ebay
on this page they seem expensive but they do come up and sometimes can be bought cheaper on auction...

If buying qualatex buy standard colours they are cheaper
and buy 9" for games cheaper again...

Anagram latex are also good for games and slightly cheaper than qualatex...

also belbal balloons are cheaper

Mattlewis also has a range of cheap balloons he is now selling and think UPUPandaway also have own brand cheap balloons fine for air filling and better quality than poundshops rubbish
