Picture Gallery / Snowman to ???
November 20, 2009, 08:09:02 PM
Lyn and I went up and stayed with Thelma for a couple of days this week and Thelma was showing Lyn how to make a snowman which unfortunately I never took a picture off, fingers crossed Thelma did.
Anyway after a while the head of the snowman on Lyn's model went down due to the raisen twist for the nose and we all thought it looked a bit duck like, Jermima puddleduck'ish with the nose being the beak and the scarf her eyes/mouth etc.
So the snowman evolved into the second picture.

Neil has kindly volunteered to answer any questions you may have, I met Neil and his lovely other half Carol at one of the care and share days only a little while ago, he is very enthusiastic and Lyn and Carol got on like a house on fire due to their passion for card making.

I'm not sure if Neil has a website?

As the topic heading suggests my son got married on Saturday, yes the 31st Oct.
So I thought I would share a family picture, the day was brilliant and just could not have gone any better.

So from left to right, Carly, my daughter, Lyn, my wife, Simon, my son, Claire, myself and Kelly, my daughter.
I think we all brushed up quite well considering  :D

I've had an email from an agent who is looking for a twister for this Saturday;

"I desperately need a balloon modeller for this Saturday 31st. It's a confirmed from 3pm-6.30pm in Alnwick, Northumberland.

If you can help, the person must be at a professional level and have a CRD certificate."

I'm assuming CRD is a CRB?

Balloon Chit Chat / logo and wording
October 29, 2009, 06:31:40 AM
I'm sorting out a little logo with some balloon related wording that can be sensible or quirky.

The logo will be a basic sausage dog with wording above and below, so far we have,

a, my twisted world
b, balloon art
c, my world of latex
d, twist and chat
e, my world of balloon art

any other suggestions and ideas are more than welcome, the dog will be a variation of this one but in a single colour;

I thought nothing would top the other week when I was walking around Shanghai in a parade dressed as a flower pot, well how wrong can you be. As things go I thought that may well have been the highlight or surreal moment of my career, that is until I got a phone call on Friday.

It was in connection with a photo shoot for a pop video from an Australian band, they wanted two people inside two separate 6 foot balloons, no problem until they mention that the two people have to be naked. I was not impressed when they informed me that the band was big down under as well!! You can insert your own jokes here  :)

There idea was to pixilate out our bits, I'm not sure if I've ever had my bits pixilated before  ;)
Luckily they agreed to my suggestion that we wear swimming trunks and pixilate them out instead. But we still have the problem of either getting inside the balloons with just our trunks on and catching all our arm, leg and possibly a few manly chest hairs along the way or getting inside clothed and stripping off once inside, the mind boggles at what we will do for our art.

There are more funny things to tell about this job like how we got pictures of both Mike and I who are hopefully doing the job to the client wearing only our underpants................................I don't think I've laughed so much in ages  :D  :lol:

And yes we do have the pictures to prove it  :o

Balloon Chit Chat / Pictures from a job
October 26, 2009, 09:40:46 AM
I was working for a housing association the other day and the official photographer came around for the magazine shots that they all seem to do. They generally all promise to send them to you but never do so it was nice that this person was true to his word.
He also got the name of the company into the shot.

The last day for this year is the roadshow in Leeds, booking details will be on the website from Thursday.
The day is dependant on numbers with a minimum of 12 required so if you are planning on coming please book ASAP, many thanks.

The day will cover everything you wanted to know about balloon modelling but were afraid to ask. From all the twists and what to use them for onto quick easy and impressive models and then the fun easy to make walk around helicopter which has definately been a hit at every event that it's been made at. Plenty for everyone, with some lovely positive comments made to us by those that attended the first day back in July in Birmingham.
The cost for the day is a bargain £10, booking details; http://sempertexballoons.co.uk/index.ph ... &parent=12
