I have been asked by a balloon modelling friend for advice, his church has asked if he can do a balloon story for children and adults 6-10 mins. any ideas?

Ahh I went for 4 (3"ish long) bubbles all joined together in a bundle and then the forehead and ears get built around those if that makes sense.

So in effect, before you add the eyes and nose, the back of the head looks the same as the front of the head.

I am not quite sure how Graham did his nose (not HIS nose but the one on the bears), yours is looking good Areyouhappydad, its difficult to get those bubbles all the same size and even, I often have that trouble.

Here is my attempt at your Bear Graham, I will have another play around with it and see what ideas I can come up with.

For me, as a regular performer, the best option for PLI was to join Equity, I joined about 15 years ago. I am sure there are other PLIs out there but Equity seemed to be the right direction to take with all the added legal cover and so on.

I like these, I prefer the white eyes too but the others look great, Do you mind if I have a go?

I am pretty new to this Forum so was not involved in the discussion Graham mentions, But, I have been a full time entertainer for about 15 years now, I do Balloons and magic and I seem to be surviving quite happily during this economic climate.

There are many reasons why I have managed to keep so busy and the main one is a good agent, I know a lot of people don't like working for agents but I have to say getting my agent was the best thing I ever did and I wouldn't be doing this now without them.

Apart from that I distribute my cards at every party and work hard to keep my act to a high standard so that customers want to re book me.

Its tough when you are young, I once had a student magician who was 14 and he really struggled to get work or be taken seriously. I think Graham is right though, you should find out who the other Balloon modeller is and give them a call, tell them your situation and hopefully you can work something out.

Personally I don't see a problem with you doing restaurant work, its great you have these skills, I wish I had such skills when I was 12.
