Picture Gallery / Huge Baby Shower Bear
August 06, 2013, 09:46:20 PM
I made this recently to see what these pink polka dot balloons would look like in bear form, lol.
I also wanted to have a baby shower themed bear. I did not use link-o-loons and did the raisin in and twist tie trick. This thing is huge! I took a picture of it next to my daughter to give better size perspective.

I brought it to my dentist's office as I had an appt. for a teeth cleaning and there was another dentist there who just had a baby girl a couple months ago so he got to keep it,lol.

Man this is such an awesome endeavor, you get to make people happy and they are always excited to see you, lol.

It makes you feel really good. I feel very one with Sheldon Mopes from Death to Smoochey, lol.
You can't change the world but you can make a dent. :)

Picture Gallery / Che Guevara Bust
August 03, 2013, 10:57:57 PM
There is an artsy fartsy open mic like variety show at a local theatre where I live. They have the show once a month. They had a rebels theme for August so I made them a Che Guevara balloon bust, lol.

Better bigger pics on my blog. http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/2 ... e-guevara/

Picture Gallery / Giant Balloon Dog
July 30, 2013, 01:05:18 AM
I learned this design from Happy Cabbie on YouTube and made some changes.

I made it for a recent stint at Earth Fare and it was a HUGE hit, lol. More pics on my blog= http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/.

I referenced lots of pictures of Kermits and Rainbows and combined different elements I liked and came up with the below.  I figured since there are soooo many of these out there I should give it a go and join the bandwagon, lol.

First of all- I don't know the member's name here at the top of my head- but whoever does Twisted Inflations, I would just like to say they inspired me for the Little Bo Peep with their amazaballs princess designs. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR WORK!

I had to figure out and come up with the construction of the Shaun the Sheep all on my own and feel like hugging it every five seconds, lol. It was really tricky for me, but now that I know what to do it won't be so bad next time. I love that show so much! Best Clay Stop Motion Show Ever= Shaun the Sheep!

Enough talk now pics, lol. More pics on my blog of course. http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/2 ... ep-parody/

I made this 4th of July display for Earth Fare where I live. There is a Giant Bald Eagle, USA Flag and Flag Post. It was my 9 month balloon twisting anniversary when I made this too, June 27th! It was exciting that there was a special occasion to celebrate what for me was another special occasion, lol. This really is the best thing ever to do- balloons should be everywhere all the time, lol.

More pics on my blog as well as links to Youtube tutorial resources I used to make eagle and flag. Andre Nolle's and Michael Langerman's Youtube Videos were essential to my being able to make this display.

Hey, I am really dying to go to the World Balloon Convention in 2014 in Denver CO. I was just wondering if anyone has been to one before and if they had any advice or heads up info.

Are the workshops really good and do you learn advanced techniques? What are the seminars like?

Any advice and or heads up or you got to do this or avoid this would be awesome!

How does it compare to say Twist and Shout? is there a big difference between the two?

I have never been to any kind of workshop before. I am dying to soak up as many as I can at this thing, lol.

Picture Gallery / Ferris Wheel
June 25, 2013, 08:57:53 PM
I saw Roger Lander's balloon ferris wheel on Youtube and made a go of it as best as I could. I had to try to figure it out. I need to make a more polished version but the VBS event I brought this too just went crazy over it!

Here is a link to a video of it in motion! I dream of course of the day when I can make a 20 ft tall or hey- even bigger version, lol. That day will come- oh yes- that day will one day come!

I had a vision in my head for a Musical Themed Column and just manifested it in my living room even though I had no job for justifying its creation, lol.

I just wanted some experience making columns and décor.

It's never boring in my living room, that's for sure! lol

I don't have pics that will fit this format so here is my blog post with pics.

http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/2 ... umn-decor/

You will see two columns connected by a music scale with notes and a sax and trumpet. I used a pic of David Croft's sax and trumpet as reference.

I came across I'mnotaclown's horse carousel while googling for a balloon carousel and just loved it! I did not have large hearts, and by the way where can you get huge hearts that color anymore?!, so I used rounds.

I just had to have this in my living room, lol. I tried to make it look like the black horses were going up while the brown ones were going to down. More pics on my blog.

There is a balloon twister named Felix Yoldi who has a video on youtube showcasing this design but he doesn't show you how to make it so I had to figure it out. I just loved it and thought he had the best version of this! I had to figure it out and make one myself!

Better pics on my blog, including one where I went to the dentist and they had a book of him going to the dentist there- it was too funny! I took pics of the things together, lol.

Picture Gallery / Doves Kissing Centerpiece
June 04, 2013, 01:18:06 PM
I came up with this centerpiece recently for a wedding gift order I had. I experimented and came up with this way to do doves using hearts.

I want to tweak the doves a little bit so that they are cleaner around the belly. I am happier with how I made the dove's belly on the left than on the right but I like the right's tail and heart wing better, lol. But now I know what to do and knowing is half the battle, lol.

I made this recently in preperations for Memorial Day for Earthfare, an extremely health conscious grocery store. They are going to keep it up for decoration as long as it will last, lol.

I used these pics as reference=

And then came up with the below.
i was in a time crunch, otherwise I would have made the top of the hat balloon in the middle part smaller so it wouldn't be sticking out so much. I also would have pushed the hat back some, and or had his head tilted back a little bit more, but now I know for next time, lol. This is my practice run and is my prototype. OMG, I don't know what it is but I totally fell in love with Shana and David Brenion's aka Nifty Balloons' Float or Sundae thing, lol.

I didn't see a tutorial for it so I just tried figuring it out as best as I could and with what balloons I had. I did not have any brownish rounds and so used the ends of 350's. I don't have geo's and have yet to work with them and I don't know if they use them or not and just used rounds. I know I will be buying like every tutorial they have, lol. Maybe not all at once but slowly and surely, lol.

Here is my attempt at replicating their amazaball's creation, lol. This made me so happy to make and I have no idea why as I don't even like floats or sundae's,lol. It is just joyous to look at and I love the retro feel and look.

Link to my blog post with more pictures including the picture of theirs that I use as reference.  http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/2 ... re-sundae/

Here is my replication attempt.

I got a request for a samurai penguin and Puffle parodies so I came up with the below.

I actually adapted unicaw89's from youtube 350 penguin design and made a 646 version. I figured the rest out on my own and used this picture as a reference.

Picture Gallery / Huge Panda Bear
April 11, 2013, 02:06:55 PM
I made this recently for a lady as a thank you gift for her help with a project and it was a big hit.

I learned how to make the overall design from arteglobos on youtube and made some modifications.

More pictures on my blog as well as links.

Andre Nolle is an amazing German balloon artist and he sells a tutorial for this on his website.
Here is the link to the English Translated Version of his website= http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... CD4Q7gEwAQ

I replicated it and just love it so much. I made one with the chest like how he makes it and I made another with alterations as I am a bit prudish, lol. My altered version is in picture below.

I have more pictures on my blog as they were too big to share here, lol. http://patriciaballoona.wordpress.com/2 ... es-briide/
