JERRY

If anyone is familiar with Beating's Cartoon Book, this body design will be second nature to you. The head design is good, the ears took a few attempts to get right. If the sizing is wrong then the pink balloon keeps popping out and the ears do not sit straight.

Where might I find the cartoon book? I haven't heard of this before

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon puppets?

I know of the two designs (Snake, and Killer whale) by M Floyd, but does anyone else know of how I could make a balloon puppet?

Had a great day learning lots. As a relative noob, my brains were totally scramble at the end! Great to meet everyone too!

I've gone in my big balloon bag and grabbed a load of different coloured balloons - maybe about 100 or so, will this suffice for tomorrow? I've got a few rounds to bring too along with some 160s

Hi Graham, I've just placed an order, it would be great to pick it up next week in Birmingham - but no worries of thats not possible. Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier - I have been away. Many thanks

Great thanks. I wonder if I ordered some balloons if you'd be happy to bring them to the day for me?

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope its okay here. I've been contacted about doing a birthday party on 27th August. I'm not too confident that I'd know what to do at such an event really, plus I can't make the date. So any of you guys here want the gig, I'll pass your details on if you'd be so kind as to send me your phone number or Facebook page/website details. Many thanks, Ben

Having not been to one of these events before, I'm unsure of what kind of balloons it will be best to bring along. Just 260s? or should I bring some others?

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Eyes
August 06, 2017, 04:35:28 PM
For a couple of models I make I take a 5" round, put a puff of air in, and twist that in half which is great for those models. However, before I had a break from twisting while my daughter got settled in I did a couple of one off models that required the eyes to be done differently - taking a 260 and inflating a small section of it. I cannot for the life of me remember how to do this however.
I did it for a 350 teddy that had a 160 nose joined with an apple twist. the eyes fit just behind the bubble holding the nose in.

Any help?!

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Craft stall set up?

Thanks Graham, will look into getting something! Do you have any advice on the crowd control element at such events? I normally say something along the lines of yes of course you can have such and such, but you need to ask you parents first. This dent work with kids who are intent on being naughty, or just don't understand what I've said, and then the cheeky ones who decide they'll help themselves to what ever they like?!! I have searched the forum, but the only crowd control topics i can find seem to be at parties which I've not ventured into yet as I wouldn't have a clue what to do!

Balloon Chit Chat / Craft stall set up?
August 02, 2017, 12:53:44 PM
I have been to a few craft stalls to twist balloons, the last one was in a big marquee with old wooden tables. All the stall holders had lovely cloths, some with logos on to put over the tables. However I didn't. It didn't affect the models I put out, but it didn't look good. What do you do in this situation?
Finally, in situations with lots of children, or special needs children who don't always understand how they should be behaving, how do you stop them pinching displayed models, or balloons that are not yet inflated?

Many thanks
