How does membership work for BAG? Is there a sensible time to join, or once membership is paid does that mean we can attend the following 10 care and share days? If I'm not too late, I'd like one of the DVDs you're going to destroy.

Balloon Chit Chat / Printed balloon instructions
July 18, 2017, 05:08:22 PM
Hi,
I've been asked to provide a balloon workshop for a children's holiday club which I'm really excited about. So I've got an hour to teach about 13 or so children how to make a few things. However I would like to leave them with some instructions on how to make a few simple things. I'm aware its highly illegal to photocopy pages from a book I have - so does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a step by step PDF I can copy and hand out for these children. Or in fact does anybody have something like this already I could have or potentially buy? Many thanks

Balloon Decor / IKEA NOT lamp
May 25, 2016, 02:26:26 PM
When I looked on the idea website, all I can see for the not lamp is an up lighter with a reading light coming off it. Is the lamp everyone uses? Or is there one without the reading light?
How do you convert it from up lighter to balloon base? Does it require weighting to hold it steady?
If I wanted to create an arch, what could I use to bridge the gap at the top?
Sorry for all the questions, I'd like to try out a bit of decoration!

Many thanks
Ben

Taekwondo uses the same colour suits as judo and karate, plus a similar grading system (coloured belts) Sometime TKD suits have a black stripe down the sides of the suit. Otherwise, no difference.

Hi balloon folks - I haven't done any ballooning in a while. We had a baby (born two weeks late on new years eve) I made my first balloon since she was born - just a simple deely-bopper hat thing. I want to challenge myself  and would like to make at least one balloon model every day som I can improve my knowledge etc. I'm looking for 3 or so minute models to make. I have the beating book, and a few of grahams DVDs, which I'm going to try and work through, but if you could suggest specific models I could try, or youtube, and online instructions etc, that would be great.

Many thanks!

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: 260 sidewall?!!
December 01, 2015, 08:58:30 PM
Thanks, I just thought, if its soft enough to bend in half, would it be possible to start to make it like a pinch twist and slowly pinch the air out of it until its small enough then just twist it to keep it the right size?

Balloon Tutorial & Help / 260 sidewall?!!
December 01, 2015, 06:38:32 PM
Hi, I saw this thread 123-alien-pdf-dylan-gelinas-t9262.html

Its the coolest thing i have ever seen so I bought the PDF, I know its hard, but I like to stretch myself - if you don't try something, you won't improve! Anyway - so I need some practice with measurements and I might try using a ruler for this guy. However as the title states, its the sidewall bubble I'm having difficulty with. I made the head of the Alien, but I actually, cheated and tied an uninflected 160 as an attachment point. Needless to say it didn't really work. Soon, how do you do it> Does anyone have a video of the technique? I have made a sidewall bubble in a 646 that was unattached to anything, but this is something totally different. I guess I could put a scrap inside next time and make a raisin, but I would like to be able to do the sidewall bubble.

Many thanks, Ben

When following instructions - two terms of measurements seem to be used, fingers, and inches. Now fingers are easy to understand. We all have them. However, when it comes to inches, how exactly to you make this accurate without getting a ruler out. I've never seen a twister with a ruler. How do you gauge inches whilst twisting?

It was humorously (failed, obviously) showing my disgust (as a midlander) at not knowing where Hinkley is!
