I had my first big decor job a few weeks ago.  Here are some pics of what I made.

Here are some more, this is exactly what they asked for.  They looked much better in person than they did in the photos.  0127171347c - Copy.jpg[/attachment:3ri7z79v]0127171345.jpg[/attachment:3ri7z79v] There were 7 of these throughout the place. More of the smaller taper topiaries.  (There were 3 large and 3 small total)0127171346a.jpg[/attachment:3uv0mjmp]
Here is a size reference on the columns.  This guy is 6ft 4in tall.0126171650-1 - Copy.jpg[/attachment:3uv0mjmp]
Here is a better one of the photo frame, it was actually straight when I first built it, lol. 0125171727-1.jpg[/attachment:3uv0mjmp]

The photo frame looks great, especially with the pool as background.

Thanks Graham.  I wish it had stayed straight.  They maintenance people moved it and it got a little crooked, but I didn't really notice until I saw the picture. lol.  It was a lot of work, but very fun.  :-)

Great work Tonya. Love it.
Well here is an offering from Friday.  I was going to do blues, whites and clear but the colour scheme at the party was going to be lilacs and pinks so I went with that.  The original idea was a half arch to go across to a wall at the entrance to the party area but my client said her husband was going mad about how much she was spending so we used it where she had wanted a woven mermaid and dropped the other sea creatures.  So this was a compromise piece.

that is very cool Thelma.  I would never have thought to do a half arch, I like the way you did it.  I'll bet your client was thrilled. :-)

WOW Tonya well done!! How long did it all take? Did you do it on your own?? Beautiful.

Thelma I love your "organic" arch, I want to try one but no idea where to start!!

thanks zozoo, it was fun to make these.  I haven't ever done any of this before, and I don't have a lot of equipment to do it quickly (electric pumps, etc), so it probably took longer than it should have.  It took about 14 hours for me to get it all together from start to finish.  I had help with about 8 hours of it.

I bet it was nerve wracking. I am venturing into decor, I've done the QBN tests and actually am attending the Qualatex Fundamentals course next week too just so I know all the basics and can do the best I can but I'm nervous at the thought of doing decor in real life hahaha

lol, I completely understand.  I have just started offering decor myself.  I took my CBA exam years ago, but have forgotten most of what I learned since I have never used it.  I love twister balloons, but rounds kind of make me nervous.  I figure the only way to make me less nervous is to just jump in and do it and hope it all turns out good. Everyone here liked the taper topiaries and curly topiariess so much, I keep getting asked for those type of things.  I have another big job next weekend doing similar stuff, I hope it goes a lot quicker this time.  I am doing this one by myself though, so we'll see.  I'll post pics after the event. :-)
