Here was a recent bit of a turtle frenzy recently thanks to the release of a design by CJ Nelson. I purchased the video download from The Twisters Cook Book ($5) as I liked the design and could see me making this in the future. http://thetwisterscookbook.com/product/ ... ng-turtle/
The video is clear, well paced and easy to follow. The design itself is a real crowd pleaser and very obviously a Ninja Turtle.
All of the processes were simple enough for most twisters, though the balloons used may not be carried by everyone (larger rounds, 646,350).
I do not carry lime green in these sizes but did carry black so I used the techniques to create a black ninja. I later downsized the design (as suggested by CJ) making use of 5 inch round, 350, 260 and 160 to make a design that is awesome.
I did also use the same principals to make a tiny one from 160s.
The large version is very impressive and one that you will want to make.
The artwork on these is minimal which will please some of you out there.
My only difficulty with this download was getting it to play. This is not possible on an iPad or iPhone but when I moved to my laptop I had no problem downloading and playing with QuickTime.
I rate this design highly and recommend that you purchase it ASAP. A bargain at $5 (American).
Kindest Regards
Stuart

Yes I did notice a lot of turtle activity last week Stuart, I did not realise how big these were. More bang for your buck as they say.

yes, I agree that the design is nice and easy, worth buying.
I did a downsize version and it turns out not bad. I am going to try the original version after getting the big balloons...

Well Done!

I love the mini or Pico version.

And thanks for the review.

I was awake when this was a free view before going on sale. But I still think its a great design and I'll probably buy anyway.

I was also awake Danny and made the black ninja on the basis of this free view. I then went ahead and bought the download in order to support CJ. At $5, it works out at a little over £3 in pounds sterling. Less than a pint!

I really enjoyed making CJ's large turtle design. The picture and sound quality of the video is very good and CJ's instructions are easy to follow. I made the large version as described in the instructions. The artwork is easy to follow expect my white paint marker exploded over my mobile phone case Grrr. This one can be made fairly quickly and so is suitable for the real-world yet the end result is large and impressive.

Well worth the investment.

Seems a little odd that a download is out of stock, might be a glitch on the website.
Have you sent him a PM?

I've bought it and am really happy with the design. I don't have any 646's so tried it with 260, 350 and a 5" round and it came out pretty decent, just need to check my proportions with the smaller balloons.

I've posted both versions. As you can see with the one on the left I made the shell waaaay too big, 2½ hands compared with the right one which is 1½ hands. Doesn't help too when the mouth deflated on me about 10 minutes after I had made it.
