Hi, i thought your site was fine last time i checked it out, and i still do, having said that though there is a couple of small things i would point out, mostly about spelling

Remember is spelt rember on 'Balloon Decor', 'Childrens Partys'
Always is spelt allways on 'Childrens Partys'

This is an image on the Childrens Partys Page that says 'Sample Image, Click Here To Edit' i assume this is created from some sort of template and that is an image placeholder on the template. If you arent planning on an image i would either put a blank white square in there, or delete it.

If you are able to i would suggest copying the text from each page into Microsoft Word or other text editor and run a spelling and grammar check through it, and then copy it back to your site. It should solve most of the problems you have.

(This is something i would suggest to anyone creating websites, brochures etc).

Kindest Regards

Pete

Craig,

Just had a quick look, my connection is a bit slow on the woggle?
Your main header looks much too busy to me, much preferred the old one
I normally say less is more.

Well, you said you are open to all comments, so here goes.    I'm glad you ditched the very pale colours you had before in your old website. Now, to fix up this site, you need to change all the type - I mean ALL - to the colour black. It looks very unprofessional with all those different colours, and is very distracting from the information you are trying to convey.

You should lose the underlining, as it's a convention on the internet that underlined text will be a link - this is confusing to people perusing the pages. You could just use all caps instead, to make the headings stand out. All the grammar and spelling needs a good proofread. Normally in publications, sans serif type is used for the headings, and a serif face for the body type, but that isn't a hard and fast rule.

Personally, I would not offer the "adult" content on the same site as you are offering childrens' parties. You could lose business, and it doesn't look good, if family events are your main avenue of work.

All this of course, is only IMHO. :)

Cheers,

is it worth risking work for the sake of 1 adult page with very little info on it (how many jobs would you expect it to get you)
& would it not be better to have a second site offering your adult balloons under a different pseudonym so as not to risk your other work
less is definitely better (G L) is the photo on the header distorted or meant to look like that

Hi

To be honest there are so many things with it that go against: clarity, comprehension, leading a visitor on a path through the site, making clear offers and asking for some clear action ..... in other words a site that is as good as your work that gets the bookings and makes you money!

I could really deconstruct it and take you through page by page but it would mean making an effort, some important decisions, and then following through. Just ask if you'd like some help ... otherwise, good luck

Possibly. Or, possibly get an experienced website designer to make one for you - not necessarily a professional, but experienced. John "The Infotainer" strikes me as being very knowledgable in this regard.

I respect you for saying you are open to comments, and not hitting out at people when these are not to your liking. I have found so many times that when someone offers good, constructive criticism, it is only taken as an attack, when one could learn so much by just taking it all in and learning from it. Spelling and grammar are the very basics, and no-one will take you seriously when they are lacking - before even considering the content and presentation.

I suggest you do as I have done, and that's to get some good books out of the library on web page design, and/or Google for lots and lots of free information - read up on it. And pay attention to SEO - if you don't know what that is, then you need to Google it and read up on it too. Books on desktop publishing are also useful, and give general information about good, effective design.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Hi

I am also pleased you are able to take the advice how it is intended ie free, expert help!
There is no point at all in saying "Wow lovely site ... good luck" unless the owner doesn't care what it looks and works like. I always cover comments as I don't know the site purpose. Some are just putting it up as a portfolio ... not to get real work! Known in the business as 'Vanity Sites' ... just to show colleagues and family.

I am. 30 years an award winning Creative Consultant and (overlapping) 20 years an entertainer (with awards) and now specialize in Marketing For Entertainers. But I will not design your site for you. What I do is help you design it yourself, then, when I am gone, you can still do it without being in a straight-jacket of having to pay a designer!

Quote>> I suggest you do as I have done, and that's to get some good books out of the library on web page design, and/or Google for lots and lots of free information - read up on it.

But that would take you forever. I have suffered so you don't have to! What I would suggest is to put up a simple site (under my guidance) and then if you want to later add 'improvements' with some smart graphics, videos etc you can study how to use Photoshop, Camtasia etc and know exactly how to add these and whether you even should or not.

Quote>> And pay attention to SEO - if you don't know what that is, then you need to Google it and read up on it too.

Again, lot of bad stuff out there and it would take you ages.

I've suffered so you don't have to!

I'll happily offer (you or anyone) to walk you through rebuilding the site, on the condition that you respond and put in the work required. This is simple .... but takes answering some honest questions, and following through. At the end, you'll have a site that comes from you and does what you want it to do.

All for now .....

hello its me again lol been looking around at other peoples web sites and there's some really good ones out there and some shocking ones lol
taking on board what every one was saying before about the adult balloons and the mapping of the site I have rebuilt the site and would love to hear the good and bad of it
I haven't got the cash to spend on a web designer so i do it on my own using free softwear.
one thing i would say is there's a big gap between the welcome and the main home page and am trying to fix that.
