I was entertaining for the local beaver/scouts today at there big yearly get together, had 230 little darlings to entertain.
I have been doing this for as many years as I can remember, I'm like a bit of the furniture there.
So we do a 45 min magic show that went very nicely with a couple of cracking helpers who just made the routines that bit extra special, if only we could choose the right helpers all the time :)
After the show they have 30 mins before I do a game show, as I'm getting ready for the second half I get talking to a helper & young lad called Sam who I'm guessing is 5/6 yrs old as I'd just brought in the star prize which was the monkey on a tree that I posted earlier in the week on here.

I was explaining that he could win it by taking part in the games in a few minutes, wow did his eyes light up ;)  but there were a few others that would also be doing there best to win the prize, trying to bring him back down as what are the chances of him winning this..at a guess I'd say 230/1
We started off & each game has people eliminated, with the winner going through to the play off final, so who ends up being in the final, yes it's Sam  with another beaver & two adult helpers. The final is handicapped to take into account the varying ages etc to try & make it as fair as possible, well today there was no need to stagger it as the two young beavers won by miles, it was like a one horse race.
The first two past the post both win a prize with Callum coming second & getting the ride in horse & Sam, yes Sam who's eye's lit up at the beginning when we were discussing how to win the star prize being the overall winner, well when he realised he had won & that he had won the star prize....to say his face lit up would be an understatement, he was so chuffed. Hopefully he will remember the magic & gameshow inyears to come, but one thing I know is that todays experience is in the memory banks for ever and I will remember little Sam.
Andthen to cap it all I get paid, what more could you want :D

Hi Henry, for the record I didn't go out by myself in the beginning to busk. I needed a fellow balloon twister to combat that 'fear' if you like. Again, like Popsie, I did a few presentation to companies etc (probs not as big as yours Popsie!) but when it come to mr joe public. It's one of those things that disapperas after a while. I think people like to look at what your making and how and don't know or care how long you have been doing it.
If I lived in the Midlands my friend I would do a busking gig with you. Perhaps next time i'm in the region...?
