I need your help if you are willing and able.
I am making a dress out of 260 lips and 260 white balloons. The 260 balloons are no problem but I have run out of 260 lips.  They can be any colour at all, in fact the more colours the better.  So far I have used over 3500 lips and I need approdimately another 2000 to finish this piece.  So...................

HELP!!!  If any of you like would be willing to save your lips for me I would be very grateful.  My dress has come to a stop now that I have used the ones I collected.  You could possibly bring them along to a care and share day or perhaps even post them to me.

What do you mean? Is it just the very start, the round part of the balloon you want? If so, I've got loads of scraps, I'll cut the tips and send to you.

Silly me!  Yes I meant just the lip of the balloon - thanks for pointing that out I will edit the first post.  Thanks for offering your help.

Thank you Kevin and of course I don't mind.  I have not done anything much on facebook.  I have yet to get into that.  Got too many other things I want to do first and not enough hours.

Here is the weave I am working on.  You can see the coloured lips in the background of the weave.

DUH!!!!! Sorry Thelma, I wasn't thinking when I said I had loads of scraps. I went out this morning to cut off the ends to send to you and . . . . . . . yes, I have 1000's of scraps but I've already used the 'lips', the scraps are what is left of each balloon.  :roll:

I will save all I have and try to save as many more that I can  

Thanks to you all.  I did wonder about the scraps because mine tend the be the tip ends instead of the lips as well.  Thanks for the thought though.  I have been taking the lips of my models as I have been making them the last couple of days.  When asked why I am doing that I say "I am making a dress with them"  They look at me like I am mad.  Maybe they are right.  I think I lost the plot a long time ago.  

Looking on the bright side, I will only be spending a little time each night doing the lips I have available, so I won't be causing my hands trouble with the repetition.  I am really keen to get this stage of the dress finished so that I can get on with the really interesting part - adding the inflated balloons to it and changing it into different designs.  When the base layer of this dress is finished I will be able to have a lot of fun with it.

Have just posted you about 500 balloon lips Thelma.

Have managed to get another 150 together, will post them out tomorrow. If anyone else is keeping/saving these for Thelma I know she would like them sent ASAP as she has used all the ones she had and the 500 I sent the other day.

Looking through, I did not have as many as I thought, as I seem to have more of the opposite ends, but on the premise every little helps I will send my small collection on Monday

Thanks guys.  I am making good progress.  I used the ones you sent me Graham.  Thanks for those.  Any more will be gratefully accepted.  Here is a photo of the dress as far as I have done it.  This time I have turned it inside out so that you can see the weave from the other side.  I am not sure which I like the best.  As there are no loose ends or knots showing on either side I suppose I can use it either way round.  Not too much left to do on the main part of the dress and not sure what I am doing for the sleeves or straps.  I think I will keep them minimalist because the whole point is to add inflated balloons.

Hello everyone, I have had four offers of lip knots since my request and have received two packages.  Unfortunately I don't know who to thank as there was no note in either package to say who they were from.  However to the people who sent the lips to me a huge thank you.  I am sorry I am very late in saying this thank you but I have not been around lately.  My family had the saddest Christmas ever, having to sit and wait for someone we all loved dearly to pass slowly away.  She went just under two hours before my daughters birthday which was yesterday.  I got home last night and found the packages waiting for me.  I realise with the Christmas rush that the other promised lips are either on the way or about to be sent now the Christmas rush is over.  I just wanted to say thanks for the ones I did receive.
