This is my first 'paid' job in so much i got volunteered in work to do it but its an open/fun day for a local village. (Bromborough Pool Village on 5/7/08 all welcome)

I will be charging with all proceeds to the charity. I'm fairly quick on most basic models so whats the going rate? About £1 per balloon and keep them simple. I dont want to get stiffed by the lovely little scousers (I am a scouser and know what they are like)

I've just asked exactly the same thing!

Up until now I've been charging 50p per balloon, but that seems a bit low doesn't it! I'm doing a job this week and I was thinking I might put a sign up saying £1.50 with 50% going to RNLI (since it is their event).

From another Scouser (but this one lives in the Midlands) .... Like others have said we get paid by the hour these days rather than charge per balloon: If its a charity event they can usually get a sponsor to pay my bill, I will invoice them.

I have seen out and about twisters with Menu's of different models different prices which to me seems a good idea as to how many balloons in each model: much like the face painters list of faces have a model list with prices after all you spend more time and balloons on a twisted hat for example than a sword. some even have a fold up list that fits in their pocket with drawings and everything - think Tom Myers or someone int eh states sold these at one time cant remember.

Back in the dark ages and wilds of time when we where learning the art Like (20 years ago) we used to charge £1 a balloon at car bots and fetes etc (but things like swords etc I always made 2 one for child one for Dad/Mum - spare for when it popped) and gave a 30 second gaurantee (Michael Decker rules!!) sorry joke, I always have fixed broken models if I am still there I am just a softy like that

But things dont seem to have moved on..... and the art is 1/ more popular and 2/ far more creative than it was then... £1.50 is a lot to say when asked  £2 rolls of the tongue a lot easier ( and you could always offer discount for more than one child in a family or smaller models like one balloon dogs and swords which take seconds to make)
