Title: Another goodbye
Post by: Graham Lee on August 01, 2011, 10:33:02 PM
My big white lion head rabbit that I have been using in my magic shows for the past eight years died tonight, Lyn thought he was a bit off colour yesterday and today he just sat quietly outside soaking up the sun in the bird aviery. Still I think he had a good time and brought joy to hundreds of children, this is a picture of him from the website.
I have a show on Wed, better quickly start training another rabbit, I have four to pick from.

Graham,

Sorry to hear your news - it is so sad when a one half of a double act dies... I have just bought a few chickens if you need a temporary replacement.

RIP Mr Rabbit

That is so sad.  But he didnt have a bad life did he.  If he was able to bask in the sun and just go quietly in the evening its not the worst way to go.  Quite nice in fact.  All the same .... sorry to hear he went.  A cutie for sure.  Looking on the bright side if he was about to go its a good fortunate your job wasnt one day earlier.  Can you imagine it happening at a party?

Well I was working in Southend today and before I left I went to feed the 4 other rabbits I have and found we had two babies born overnight. Then when I get to Southend Lyn rings to say we now have three and in the afternoon rang again to say we have five babies. Mum does not seem to be looking after them so we are a bit concerned but nothing we can do so fingers crossed, anyone want to buy a rabbit  ;)

We said goodbye to our cat yesterday so I know how you are feeling. It's always sad when an animal goes but I suppose your little bunnies are the silver lining.

Two of the little babies have died but the other three are now all in a nest and she seems to be looking after them. Before they were all over the cage and she was walking all over them and paying no attention.

My new rabbit cages arrived today, self assemble and there is a slight technical problem, they were advertised at 52" wide but are 54" so will not fit where I had planned.
It may be out with the saw.

The rabbits are coming along nicely, when I took this picture of them they were all cleaning each other. There eyes are still shut but should be opening soon.
The new rabbit cages, I need to get some lino to put on the top for easy clean especially with the birds pooing everywhere.

Graham,

Looks like you have quite a collection there. I recently joined the 'Good Life' and bought three pet chickens. In the space of just three weeks I am getting three eggs a day!... and all my plants have been destroyed, my grass is dead and there is chicken poo everywhere... but dippy egg and soldiers have never tasted so good.

But I think the wife is taking things a little too far... check out the sign she bought from ebay for the hen house.....

The first lot of babies are now 16 days old and our other rabbit today had a litter, they are all snug under some hay so as yet not sure how many. Would anyone like a rabbit or two?
