Hi all!
I delivered a Minnie Mouse balloon column with a foil head last night which was filled with air not helium, as soon as I took the head out of the car into the cold it started to deflate. Is this normal? I know helium filled balloons do this...needless to say I got a bit of a panic on! I'm just about to deliver another one and a bit worried it will happen again...there's always the dredded thought it will stay like that?  :?

I believe it is to do with the warmth of the air inside the foil, a decorator will be able to explain better than I can I'm sure.

Well, if you take it back into a room where warmer is, it will return to its original state. Not just helium shrinks in cold... :)
Always inflate at the same temperature like the destination and don't worry when it shrinks in cold a little bit - it will return to its original state shortly. Foil balloons aren't elastic like latex balloons, so in such a case they looks like a deflating balloon.

Phew!
Thanks for your reply Graham and Leslie...that's put my mind at rest anyway!
The Minnie Mouse I delivered last night didn't shrink when I took it out the car and it was freezing! Mind I ran with the 4ft Minnie Mouse column from the car ha ha.
Thanks again
