Hi all, I've been booked to work in a summer school on Thursday and have just had a request from the client to see if it would be possible to do a few games/team building exercises with the kids. They're all age 10/11 and I will have a 45 minute session with a group of 20, then a 2nd session with a different group.

Does anyone have any great games that they know would work with this kind of age group? I think she was thinking along the lines of me showing them how to make something that looks good and maybe splitting them into teams to get each team to recreate it, I suppose a bit like the Generation Game.

I was thinking of maybe spending half an hour showing them a few different flower designs and then seeing which group could make the most/biggest bouquet in the final 15 mins.

or maybe doing something wearable??

Any ideas would be very much welcomed! Thanks, Lisa

Jimmy Carlo has a good DVD out on games. If you email him direct I'm sure he can send one asap.

Hi Lisa,
I have done balloon workshops for that age group!!
As you said show them a few basic twists, the pinch twist and petal twist are great for beginners. Then maybe keep it simple, dog, or flower...or you could make something like a robot, but in different parts, have each part numbered and connected by a pinch twist, Then give the 2 teams a disassembled robot and get them to work as a team to put it back together!! You will really impress with that game, but it's a bit of extra work.

Hope it goes well for you. :)
