I'm taking my magic show on tour to Belarus (Russia) again soon. I've been there a few times before, but this time it's for 28 days.

I've done loads of balloon modelling in the past in the form of a small show. This time I want to make that side of my show even bigger. I have many new huge fantastic models to make, but not as much in the way of humour.

I hoping you guys can help me with some more ideas to make it more entertaining. I'm looking for more visual gags/ideas with the balloons. Any suggestions would be REALLY appreciated please.

Many thanks

Billy

Graeme,

Do you do the squeeker with the balloon, you start deflating the air from the balloon & when the balloon is
completely deflated the squeeker takes over & you keep kicking & stamping on the balloon while still using the squeeker.
This may read rubbish but is a fantastic bit of buisness when done correctly.

Hi Graham, it has confusded me a little, do you mean while it's on the floor uninflated you kick it and stamp on it in sequence to using the squeaker?  :!:

Have the inflated balloon in your hand with the balloon between both forefingers & thumb,
slowly let the air out while using the squeeker.
When all the air is out of the balloon the squeeker is still making the noise, do a double take then throw
the balloon on floor stamping on it & using the squeeker intermitantly.
Or give me a ring to explain fully. It really is a great of buisness, I've never used it myself but have seen
it performed on numerous occasions to great effect.

I like that there's a running gag in there too - just now and then throughout the show give a little squeak
C\'mon Let\'s twist again...

This looks like something I can use...
Where can I find these "squeekers". Can you give me a link so I can see how they look like?

Hi Graham,

Are you talikng about the round sqeakers you hide in your hand, or maybe one of small longish squeakers from the party blowers . . . . . does that make sense?

Just the normal ones that all the magic dealers sell.

Ok just googled & it may not just be the normal ones.
Found a booklet that may be good on public squeeking, the squeekers are the next item down.
If you used this type you would need to cut the squeeker out from the plastic.

Hi,

on the few occassions i have done a "Balloon show" i have done needle through the balloon, are you familiar with this??

Its got great interaction and i always get a kid up to draw a teacher etc face on a balloon and then the 1st time it pops and the second time it works................you can then link this into the restoring of the balloon.

Also Norman Barnhart has a great DVD on balloon shows and on it he takes a red scarf and gets it to disappear in a thumbtip and then he has a red uniflated  balloon with another scarf inside and blows it up and pops it, looks great live!!

Thank you for the suggestions Billy, I used to use the needle through balloon many years ago but could never really get a good routine going with it, I might dig it out and give it another go.

I just tried to 'Google' Norman Barnharts DVD but couldn't find it. Does anyone know who sells it?

Many thanks,

Billy

Hi Billy Wiz

Do you have a video player.

If so I have a video by Dan Crain called Balloons are Here, There and Everywhere.

If you would like to borrow it PM your address and I'll pot it in the post.
