I want to make a racquet. I saw a pic with an 11 inch round in the with lines drawn on it for the strings but I would love to make the strings out of uninflated balloons. Any ideas on how to attach the balloons but not to lose the circle effect of the racquet. Not sure if that makes sense... I looked for some pics on the forum but couldn't find much.

Cheers!

My only thought is to make a frame using florist style wire inside uninflated 260q or 160q and then somehow attach an inflated one around the edge to give a thicker frame and give you something to attach a handle to.

Racquets can look nice with a clear circle inside the racquet to hold the shape and to wedge the uninflated balloons too.

Make a small loop from a clear 260 then two pinch twists then a much larger softened loop and tuck back into the pinch twists.

Now make the racquet head around this clear circle...

Hello, here is a tennis racquet i made for my niece's birthday. As you can see i lost a bit of tension in the string trying to keep the shape of the racquet.
Hope this helps a little.

I just made a tennis racquet and was going to say I did not like it because it's too round for a tennis racquet but just clicking on the post I see you were looking for a squash racket which are rounder but I don't think I would make this up for someone. I think I would do an open weave 160 for the mesh and then possibly 350 for the outer body of the racquet to keep it in proportion.

If the outer body was two 350's the weave could be woven with this and then a 260 over the top to hide the mechanics for the smoother outer look.
I expect that is as clear as mud  :)  Still I tried.

Anyway maybe it is a starting point for you Tess?
