Good luck Princess, and thank you for your kind comments.

I love working in hospitals, kids get so bored and really are so happy to see you. If you're working around the beds, it's great because you can focus on each child individually making them feel really special. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, although I'm sure you'll find it difficult at times. I find I'm OK most of the time in the hospital, it's when I go home and the reality sinks in as to why all those children are there, that's when it hits me. :(

Best wishes,

Graeme

Hey Mr Wiz!

Great job on the work overseas – I'm quite new to the world of entertaining, but I would love to get involved in this type of work in the future. I know Clowns Bluey and Conk also do the world wide smiles work http://www.worldwidesmiles.biz.

What advice would you give to anyone considering this type of voluntary work? Are there particular charities you approached or do you raise funds and organise the visit your self?

Hi Milo,

I have two 'chosen' charities, that is deaf kids in the UK and my own 'Make A Smile Appeal' for kids in Belarus.

I get so many tel calls every week asking me to do a free show for so and so event to help raise money for so and so charity. If I said yes to them all, I would never earn any money.

The deaf kids started as I have a friend who's little girl is deaf and wanted to get involved, so went to college for two years, learnt sign language and then designed a show for deaf kids to be able to comunicate direct.

With regards to the Make A Smile Appeal, making smiles with kids in Belarus, I started this because my wife and I host a child every year from areas of Belarus affected from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

If you want to do something like this, first, just contact a local hospital, they love having entertainers come for the kids. You'll get no better feeling than when you walk away from that hospital knowing how many kids you've made smile.

If anyone in the UK would like to get involved and help with Chernobyl kids when they are here in the summer, let me know the area you live and I'll find out the contact details of your nearest link. They all have a leaving party before the kids go back and would love to have a balloon twister there. These kids are the nicest kids you could imagine, they're polite and patient, and so thankful to receive a balloon model, and many have never ever seen balloons.

Best wishes
