Have to say that I'm very pleased & surprised how well the forum seems to be going.
Would very much like to get more suggestions from you on what else we could add to Improve the site.
All suggestions are most welcome as sometimes one idea sparks a flow from others.
I was thinking of having a "Interview a balloon chat member"  week in between the other interviews we have going on.
The idea was that from August "The Interview" of a famous/celebraty? balloon artist will go monthly
then we can find out more about each other & what makes us tick.

I have a couple of suggestions.....

1) A technical one.... would it be possible for links off the forum to open up in a new window?
2) A Latex Library - a resource section for useful sites, stores, books, DVDs etc to help Balloon chatters.
3) um.. thats it for the moment!

Yeah Danny I agree with the technical one - that would be great if its possible!

If only I knew what the technical question meant, I think it's time for International Rescue.
Does anyone have there number :?:  if not I'll speak with Wim.

I'll try and explain....

So when a link is provided to another website e.g http://www.sempertex.co.uk when I click on that link I get taken to the website and lose this one.

If when we clicked the link it opened that site in a new window we would then have both this site and the new one open.

I'm not sure if that made sense.... but hopefully it did!

If you right click on the link, youo can then select 'open in new window'. Hopw that helps

I must say it's amazing what you learn on here
Mark you explained it well. You can get back to the old window by using the back button, top left.
But if you close the new window you then loose the balloon chat site as well.
I will look into the new window opening without having to right click as I expect it will be easier for everyone
to use if this can be done.

If you hold down the shift key when you click on the link it will open in a new window

What do people think about the Latex Library idea?

Have just been talking to the person who made my website;

He's looking into making a new front page & updating the layout of the balloon chat site.
So please fire away with all Idea's & I'll talk with him about them.

Yes Graham.

Perhaps a list of DVDs, books, shops (especially Sempertex!) of balloon stuff. Also Websites of interest to balloon folk.
AND reviews too!

So its in one convenient place as a resource to help "to improve our art."

No question is ever dumb, we all had to start somewhere, don't be afraid to ask a question in case it sounds daft, we won't laugh, honest, well not to your face anyway. Only joking,    it's always great to be able to help.

Could we not put a starting out section in Balloon Chit Chat or Balloon Help?
I think in Balloon Help would be good & I'll alter the text under balloon help on the front page.
