Hi,

Just wandered what you all thought about pumps, been thinking about ordering a Filbert, but then is an electric pump better?
My work is mainly line work at events and parties.
Your opinions please!

Hi Kate,

I've never used an electric pump, but must say how much I love using a Filburt pump. The Filburt is easy to use, looks good and you'll get lot's of comments from the public when you use it.

It is a little pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.

My preference is electric

# Smaller to carry
(you can wear it just put it in a bum bag)

#Easier to hide

#No body bending

#Can sit on a chair comfortably whilst bending balloons.

Some say they are noisy but I have never had a problem with the noise.

I am in exactly the same position as Graeme in that I have never used an electric pump but I love my 'Bert and wouldn't be without him now.  He has already earned his keep too as it speeds you up no end and looks so much more impressive than a hand held pump.

Nope I'm afraid nowhere in the UK sells it.  You need to order it from the States and I would count on paying the VAT and Parcel Force's extortion ... sorry "admin" fee!

I've never used an electric pump always worried about the battery pack running out!!! Plus the noise.
when not table hopping I to use a Filbert pump, the price is good even with shipping costs from the US will last you a long time and save a lot of time with line work  http://www.filbertpump.com/ I had no problems dealing with them, great service, great pump.

Hi there. I have both a filbert and a small rechargable battery pump which goes on your waist in a bag.
For the battery pump, the disadvantage is that you have to recharge it, but it does have a big red button and its fun to use and the kids like it too.
The filbert may be big, but actually people think it is quite impressive and I am often complimented by my serious kit in terms of filbert and 'tool belt' which men approve of enormously as it is so very ordered.
So, in summary, I use the filbert all the time at the moment as the battery can get heavy and its very reliable. It was expensive, but as Yvonne said, it pays for itself pretty quickly.

I am getting a filbert as a Christmas present  :D  :D  - sad maybe, but I  am very excited about it!! (If it arrives in time that is - come on Santa!!).

Added bonus is that I can claim the cost of the 'present' back in my accounts

Can't wait to use it, I have seen both filbert and electric in use and filbert wins hands down for me.
